A Hindu woman hailing from Muzaffarnagar was abducted by her acquaintance Ayan who attempted to convert her to Islam in Meerut. The police have recovered the woman.
The woman began working at a hospital in Meerut about two and half months ago where she came in touch with Ayan who hails from the Nauchandi area. About 15 days ago Ayan took the woman with him and fled. Her family members registered a complaint of abduction at the Nauchandi Police Station. The police investigation also revealed that Ayan was attempting to convert her to Islam.
The police contacted the couple on phone and assured Ayan that they would perform his nikah with the woman. On Tuesday, Ayan left the woman with an advocate and ran away. The advocate reached the Nauchandi Police with her and the police subsequently informed her family. Inspector Jitendra Kumar said that her statement would be recorded in court. The victim would be allowed to return to her family only after they receive the court orders in this regard after recording the statement.
The police further confirmed that they have recorded the victim’s statement at the police station. They have also formed a team to arrest Ayan. Ayan runs a clothes stall and has been accused of trapping girls in the name of love earlier too.
Recently, a similar case was reported from Meerut where the victim was a newly married lady. She was abducted by two Muslims who forcibly converted her to Islam. As per reports, the woman was abducted from the Partapur Bazaar by Asif and his brother-in-law Dilshad. The duo kept her for two days at a Bulandshahr Masjid where they attempted to convert her forcibly.
