Cattle smugglers attacked the police personnel in Katigorah of the Cachar district. Several police personnel got injured in the attack. However, the police managed to arrest cattle smuggler Pakhi Miyan and his family members. 

As per the reports, Pakhi Miyan was smuggling cows and buffaloes for years. Taking advantage of the border area, Pakhi Miyan and his associates allegedly smuggled cows and buffaloes to Bangladesh. 

To arrest him, a team of Police from the Gumrah Police Station raided his house. But, Pakhi Miyan’s family members attacked the police with sticks and sharp weapons. Women members of the smuggler’s family attacked the police. Several police personnel were stabbed and beaten. 

A female police constable named Karabi Das was stabbed in the head. Sub-inspector Patowry was also stabbed. They both were seriously injured. 

Both the Police personnel were rushed to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 

Meanwhile, the Police team managed to arrest cattle smuggler Pakhi Miyan, his wife and daughter.
