Andhra: Mother leaves minor boy with pastor to teach ‘good manners’, pastor arrested for sexually assaulting him

A pastor has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 10 year old boy in Andhra Pradesh. The boy’s mother had asked the pastor to teach him religious things and good manners. The boy fell ill due to the continuous sexual assault only after which his parents came to know about it.

Aharon Prakash, 26, a Christian pastor runs his own church in Tenali, Andhra. He has been arrested by the police for sexually assaulting a minor boy on the pretext of imparting religious education. The boy’s mother, a nurse working in a nearby hospital, got acquainted with the pastor.

She asked the pastor to teach good manners and religious matters to her son and left him at the pastor’s house. The boy is said to have resided there with the pastor for nearly 8 months. The New Indian Express reported that the boy fell ill two months ago and his father had taken him home.

The boy reportedly had injuries and when his parents inquired about it he revealed that the pastor had sexually assaulted him. They lodged a complaint with the local police following which the pastor was booked under section 377 of the IPC and the POCSO Act and remanded.

The parents are said to have taken a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from the pastor. They have alleged that the director of Christian Minority Corporation has been pressuring them to withdraw the complaint.
