“‘Its release will be your last day’: Islamists with links to SDPI issue ISIS-style beheading threats to the crew of movie “Hamare Baarah””, Opindia, May 23, 2024:

“The first teaser of “Hamare Baarah” directed by Kamal Chandra was recently released. It presented a bold narrative and shed light on the challenges endured by Muslim women as they are relegated to the stature of inferior beings and treated similarly to baby-making machines in their households, in the name of religion, captivated audiences and created significant buzz among the audience.

However, it has miffed the extremists who have retorted issuing threats of beheadings to intimidate the film’s director Kamal Chandra and actors Annu Kapoor and Aditi Dhiman.

A netizen named “Error 404” posted several such threats and requested Mumbai Police and Thane Police to take immediate action…..”

In a shocking incident reported from Adarsh Indira Bengali Colony in Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar, a hawker, Mohd Parvesh, was caught by the local people while he was kidnapping a two-and-a-half-year-old Hindu child from a house. The angry people beat him up and then handed him over to the police. The police are investigating the accused’s connection with a child-stealing gang. The accused has been produced in court and sent to jail in judicial custody.

On Wednesday (22 May 2024), CO City IPS Niharika Mehra (Tomar as per Amar Ujala) told the CO office that local people from Adarsh Indira Bengali Colony caught Parvesh, a resident of Preet Vihar Colony, Rudrapur, and brought him to the police station. The people told that Parvesh was kidnapping and taking away the two-and-a-half-year-old daughter of Sheela Badhoi, a woman living in the colony.

The victim girl was sleeping at home with her 12-year-old elder sister. Seeing an unknown person taking the child, the elder sister caused a ruckus. After this, when the local people chased the accused, he threw the girl and started running away. People caught the accused about 80 meters away from the house. A case has been registered against Parvesh under section 364 IPC. CO City said that the accused is a drug addict and sells bags by hawking. Expressing the apprehension of the accused being associated with a child lifting gang, she said the matter is being investigated thoroughly.

Mohd Parvesh has lived in his in-laws’ house in Rudrapur for four years.

According to the police, the accused, Parvesh, is a resident of Sagar of Behedi in Bareilly district. He lives in his in-laws’ house in Preet Vihar Colony and does the work of hawking. His activities have been found suspicious during the police investigation. However, it is not yet clear where he wanted to take the girl. He was presented in court after a medical examination. The court has sent him to jail. All angles, including human trafficking and child-lifting, are being investigated.

Locals allege police negligence

People of the locality have accused the Adarsh Colony Police outpost of negligence. They say that after the incident, a call was made to the police outpost, but there was no response. They were forced to take the accused, Parvesh, to the outpost and hand him over, whereas the police should have come to the spot considering the seriousness of the matter. In this regard, CO City Niharika said that appropriate action will be taken if negligence comes to light at any level in this case.

Police appeal to the citizens to be vigilant

Rudrapur city police appealed to the public not to leave their children alone. They have advised the citizens to keep an eye on their children while going to and returning from school. In the summer season, there is less crowd on the road during the day. In such a situation, extra caution is necessary while having small children under your supervision outside the house. If any unknown or suspicious person is seen in the locality, the locals have been sensitized to inform the police immediately.

“Telangana: Muslims forcibly removed newly installed Saint Kanaka Haridas statue in Jogulamba Gadwal District”, Organiser, May 23, 2024:

“Some Muslims forcibly removed a newly installed statue of Saint Kanakadas that was set to be unveiled on private land in the village of Gorlakhandoddi, Gattu Mandal. The statue was scheduled for unveiling on May 22 in Jogulamba Gadwal District, Telangana.

Devotees of the village, particularly members of the Kuruwa community, who revere Kanaka Haridas as their family deity, had been performing puja since 4 AM. The community, which has celebrated the saint’s Jayanti for decades, had planned to erect a permanent statue as a gesture for the greater good. Suddenly, around 7 AM in the middle of these festivities, neighbouring Muslims arrived and violently removed the statue by abusing them.

According to local sources, the land where the statue was erected is private property with all relevant documentation, and the owners have the right to construct any structure as they wish. They emphasise that installing their family deity is not a crime, and Muslims raising objections claiming it obstructs the road is false and misleading, as Muslims have access to their houses via two side roads…..”

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his first rally in Punjab for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Thursday (23 May) and mentioned the work done by him for the upliftment of Sikhs.

He alleged in Patiala that Congress hates everything that respects our faith and slammed it for such a partition that “we used to have Kartarpur Sahib darshan through binoculars for 70 years.”

“When Bangladesh war happened, over 90,000 Pakistani soldiers surrendered and were in our custody. We had the trump card. If Modi would have been at that time, then I would have taken Kartarpur Sahib in exchange for their soldiers,” the PM said…..”

Analyzing the spate of bomb threats targeting Bharatiya schools – Bharat needs coordinated cyber security mechanisms to deal with digital threats targeting public institutions and infrastructure

Multiple schools in Bharat recently received bomb threats via email. Not just schools but several hospitals in Delhi, the Indira Gandhi International Airport, airports in Ahmedabad Jaipur, and Lucknow, along with Tihar Jail also received bomb threats over emails.

All this has happened within barely a month. Even though these threats have turned out to be a hoax, they raise important questions about the lack of adequate cyber safety and vigilance mechanisms in Bharat’s institutions and organizations.

It all started with nearly 100 schools in Delhi-NCR receiving bomb threats via email about a fortnight back. As multiple schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region received threats over email, warning them of bombs on their premises, schools immediately evacuated the students and sent them back home for safety. Parents were immediately contacted to collect their kids. The school premises were thoroughly inspected in coordination with the police.

The Delhi schools bomb hoax triggered panic amongst parents and mass evacuations of schools even as Delhi Police Officers and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) teams rushed to the spot and declared the threat to be a hoax after a thorough investigation.

The Delhi schools’ bomb threats incident triggered a spate of such hoax bomb threats at schools in other cities of Bharat including Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Kanpur. Following the incident of eight schools in Bengaluru receiving emails threatening bomb blasts, around 10 schools in Kanpur recently received threatening bomb hoax emails.

Hoax bomb threats through emails targeting Bharat’s public infrastructure and institutions – schools, hospitals, banks, railway stations, etc. aren’t new. In December 2023, an email threatening 11 bombs at 11 sites across Mumbai including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), along with ICICI bank and HDFC bank was reportedly received by the central bank on Tuesday. The senders of the email demanded the resignation of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and threatened to blow up the bank buildings in a bomb blast, if their demands would not be met, as per various media reports.

The bomb threats turned out to be a hoax and the email was reportedly sent from the email id khilafatdotindiaattherategmaildotcom on the RBI Governor’s email id. The threat even though it was a hoax, “serves as a grim reminder of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, masterminded by fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim, which claimed 257 lives and grievously injured over 700, with some people suffering disabilities”, as put aptly by a news report by ABP news.

In December 2023, 48 schools in Bengaluru received similar emails claiming that bombs had been kept within the school premises. In a pattern similar to the one seen in Delhi schools, the intent seemed to be of creating panic amongst students, parents, and school fraternity and disrupt the normal functioning of schools, as per media reports.

Email bomb threats targeting Bharat’s public infrastructure and institutions like schools and hospitals are a highly serious concern, even if these turn out to be a hoax. The intent of such threats can range from wanting to create large-scale panic and confusion to inciting serious disruptions in Bharat’s public life and tarnishing Bharat’s reputation globally, creating the perception that the country is unsafe and dangerous.

The police and the intelligence authorities are constantly tracking the source of these email threats and the possible involvement of terrorist organizations in the spate of email attacks threatening Bharat’s schools, hospitals, and other public places with bomb blasts. The exact motive of such hoax bomb threats via email is for the investigation agencies to establish, but this certainly signals the need for a concerted mechanism to strengthen cyber surveillance and security in Bharat’s public institutions and organizations.

The panic created after the email threats also shows the lack of preparedness in Bharatiya schools for dealing with such scenarios. The movement of outsiders within the premises is perhaps already considerably regulated in many educational institutions. However, the government should set up some mandatory guidelines for schools to prevent any untoward incident from happening.

It should be mandatory for schools to have CCTVs and routine security checks for screening visitors. Private schools with huge budgets probably have the financial resources and infrastructure to incorporate security checks. However, the government should consider pitching in to help out government schools and small private schools with limited financial resources to put in place such security mechanisms.

Also, most schools in Bharat lack a cyber security mechanism. They need to ensure regular monitoring of emails; there is a need for coordination between the schools to share information and intelligence outputs regarding any such threats to the safety and security of kids. The authorities should consider setting up a joint cyber security and surveillance mechanism connecting schools across Bharat through a common portal so that they can flag their concerns immediately and there can be concerted action in the wake of any such threats issued through the digital medium.

Bharat lacks proactive intervention strategies when it comes to such issues. Our responses are mostly reactive; once an incident comes to light, the police and authorities jump into action but we lack a mechanism to deal with such threats proactively. For this, there needs to be a comprehensive security policy put in place for public institutions and places like schools, hospitals, banks, railway stations, etc.

There needs to be a mechanism for undertaking comprehensive risk assessments, collaboration with law enforcement agencies, regular drills, etc. for strengthening security mechanisms in Bharat’s public institutions and public infrastructure hotspots.

An article recently published by The Indian Express offers a few useful suggestions to tackle the menace of issues like hoax bomb threats through email in schools. Bharat needs to have a cyber ministry along the lines of other countries to effectively deal with the threat of cyber-attacks and threats regarding real-time attacks issued through the digital medium.

“The fountainhead of any action is the creation of a framework for governance at the national level to ensure responsibility and accountability for the protection of the national cyberspace. In the present system, while individual ministries are doing well in implementing their respective mandates, the accountability aspect is missing. It may be prudent to recall the cyber attack in the UK in 2003 by a state-backed actor, where during the inquiry, everyone kept passing the buck and no one was found responsible. This is when they decided to create the National Cyber Security Centre under a CEO. It may be a useful exercise for the government to take a stock of some of the recent cyber attacks and examine the flaws in the present system with a view to create an efficient governance structure”, says the article.

The spate of hoax bomb threats to Bharat’s public institutions and infrastructure within the period of an election month cannot be a mere coincidence. The aim of such hoaxes is to create panic within the public and to make people suspicious of the system; it’s natural that such scenarios make citizens doubt the efficiency of the structures of governance. Thus, a spate of hoax bomb threats during election time targeting schools, hospitals, etc. is undoubtedly aimed at disrupting public life and spreading chaos and confusion to somehow negatively influence the election cycle.

With the phenomenal rise of social media, such news spreads like wildfire, thus creating further panic and a steady stream of fake news. Thus, the government must formulate specific mechanisms to proactively track such threats issued through the online medium rather than merely resorting to reactive mechanisms.

“Tamil Nadu Congress leader demands beef be served at BJP Office in response to Annamalai’s ‘Invitation’, stirs controversy”, Swarajyamag, May 23, 2024:

“A video of Tamil Nadu Congress leader EVKS Elangovan demanding to be served beef in state BJP office has gone viral drawing outrage over social media.

Earlier Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K Selvaperunthagai had demanded on Wednesday (22 May) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah issue an unconditional apology to the people of Tamil Nadu within a week for their disparaging remarks about Tamils during their election campaign in Odisha.

He warned that if they fail to do so, Congress cadres would stage a protest at the BJP headquarters in Chennai.

In response, BJP state president K Annamalai sarcastically remarked, “If the TNCC president informs us in advance of the date on which they plan to lay siege to the BJP office, we will arrange food for the 10 people who will be visiting our office. We will also present books on how the DMK and Congress have betrayed Tamils in the past……”

New Delhi, May 23 (IANS) Slogans to boycott the Lok Sabha elections were found on the walls at multiple places on Delhi University campus on Thursday, the police said, adding that two FIRs have been lodged in this connection.

The slogans, such as ‘Ek hi raasta Naxalbari’, were claimed by Bhagat Singh Chhatra Ekta Manch (BSCEM), a self-proclaimed youth organisation that posted photos of the slogans on its Instagram page on Thursday.

“Under the fascist offensive, we must remember Mao Zedong’s thesis that one of the magic weapons for making a revolution successful is a united front. The united front in Marxism is a broad joint forum of multiple classes based on a minimum common programme. In a country like India which is moving towards a democratic revolution, the scope for such unity is very strong,” the caption read.

“Unity can be achieved on the basis of anything, from a democratic transformation of the society to a revolutionary goal. Today, the country is a boiling cauldron as more and more social forces are coming forward which are opposed to the state’s war on people for corporate loot, including various movements in Kashmir, Manipur, Assam, Nagaland, etc.,” it added.

The police said that during morning patrolling on Thursday, a few slogans were noticed on the campus.

“Accordingly, two FIRs under the Defacement Act have been registered and an investigation has been taken up,” said DDCP (North), Manoj Kumar Meena.

PPFA demands punishments to suspected Bangladeshis involved in Bodo girls’ rape, youth’s murder

Expressing shock and dismay over the horrible Dudhnoi incident, where two teenage girls were gang-raped and a youth was killed by a group of hooligans, a nationalist forum in northeast India demands a stringent punishment to those criminals.

Patriotic People’s Front Assam (PPFA) also urges Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who also holds the State home portfolio, to take personal interest in delivering justice to the victim families as early as possible. The forum also appreciates conscious organisations namely All Bodo Students’ Union, All Rabha Students’ Union, Sutradhar Students’ Union, Barman Kachari Students’ Union, Prabajan Virodhi Manch, etc for their serious concern over the brutal incident, seemingly engineered by a group of Bangladeshi origin Muslims.

It may be mentioned that both the girls (belonging to Bodo community) were raped by three suspected Islamists on their return from a Bihu function on 3 May 2024. They were abandoned at the roadside by the perpetrators. The concerned families lodged a complaint at Dudhnoi police station under Goalpara district in western Assam next day.

Meanwhile, on the night of 5 May, a team of village defence party (VDP) members went to confront Dhan Ali Talukdar, an accused in the incident, where a group of goons attacked the team with sharp weapons. Hiranmay Khakhlari, a team member, sustained serious injuries and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Later Hiranmay, also from Bodo community, was shifted to a private hospital in Guwahati, but succumbed to injuries on 17 May.

Meanwhile, the police had picked up Shekabar Ali and Parbina Begum in connection with the murder of Hiranmay. Moreover, Dhan Ali Talukdar along with Bahar Ali and Rahman Ali were arrested accusing their involvement in raping both the tribal girls. PPFA, in a media statement, also supported the demand for compensating the family of Hiranmay with Rs 20 lakh and Rs 5 lakh to the families of each teenage rape victim.

Moreover, PPFA urges the government to take pragmatic initiatives to verify the draft National Register of Citizens for Assam with the base year of 1951 and punish those guilty in fraudulence and money laundering during the NRC updation including those from the electronic media outlets.

Hundreds of Hindu Rohingya females fall victim of forced prostitution

While Myanmar’s Karen Border Guard Force (KBGF), a notorious militia group as well as similar entity such as Kayin State Border Guard Force (KSBF) are accused of running drug trade, illegal casinos and cyber-scam rackets, thousands of female Hindu Rohingyas, both inside Bangladesh as well as Rakhine State are falling victims of sexual violence, including forced prostitution.

According to media reports, Hindu Rohingya refugees who fled a 2017 genocide perpetrated by jihadists belonging to Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) are now facing intimidation from the Muslim jihadist group inside Myanmar, while ARSA men are regularly attempting to abduct Hindu female and sell them to transnational human trafficking rackets, thus finally forcing them into sex trade in a number of countries in the Middle East as well as countries such as Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and EU nations.

While the stateless Muslim Rohingyas, who face systematic discrimination in Myanmar because they are viewed as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, have refused to return unless they are granted full citizenship, recognition as a national ethnic group, and basic rights, as well as guaranteed a safe environment; Hindu Rohingyas are demanding their immediate return to Myanmar. They say their Myanmar citizenship was illegally stripped away in 1982.

Shishu Shil, a 32-year old Hindu refugee told BenarNews that he and some of the other hundreds of Hindus there were prepared to return to their homes in Myanmar.

He said, “We don’t want to stay in a foreign country. During our return and afterwards when we are living Myanmar, we want only one assurance – that al-Yaqin [Muslim jihadist group ARSA] will not bother us”.

Minto Rudra, a 51-year-old Hindu refugee, also said he was willing to return to Myanmar.

“The Myanmar government did not abuse us, rather those people dressed in black [ARSA jihadists] did. Then we came to Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi government provides us food and protects us well, but now we want to go back to Myanmar. We have no demands. We will go any place where the Myanmar government will let us”.

According to media reports, back in 2017, when Muslim jihadist group Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) carried out terrorist attacks targeting Myanmar’s military bases and check posts, a group of radical Muslims invaded Hindu villages in northern Rakhine state and massacred about 100 Hindu men, women, and children. They also abducted a handful of women and took them to the Bangladeshi refugee camps where they forced them to convert to Islam. This violence perpetrated by ARSA resulted in subsequent crackdown by the Myanmar military that prompted about 30,000 Hindus and other non-Muslims living in northern Rakhine to flee south to Mrauk-U, Sittwe, Kyauktaw, and Minbya, while hundreds of other Hindus headed west to Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, ARSA intensified its notoriety on Hindu Rohingyas – mainly female, including minors and has been systematically abducting and selling them to transnational human-trafficking and sex-trade rackets.

In April 2018, a scholarly article published in US-based Gatestone Institute,  “more than 100,000 Hindu Rohingyas have also sought refuge in Bangladesh, but for a different reason: to escape the brutality of the members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), a Muslim terrorist outfit fighting against the Myanmar government.

It said:

The plight of these Hindus has received little media coverage: the authorities in Bangladesh have been hesitant to report that many of them have refused to be placed in refugee camps with Muslim Rohingyas, some of whom were among the perpetrators of crimes against them back at home in Myanmar’s Rakhine State. These crimes include the slaughter of Hindu boys and men, and the mass rape of Hindu girls and women — brutal practices that are going on to this day in Myanmar.

To compound the tragedy, the human trafficking underworld has been luring female Hindu refugees from Myanmar away from Bangladesh with false promises of sweet jobs in the Middle East and the West. Well-to-do Arabs are reportedly purchasing these girls and women as sex slaves through at least 17 trafficking syndicates.

In its effort to gather evidence against the Burmese government for its ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims, the international community must not let the dire circumstances of the Hindu Rohingyas go unnoticed.

In March 2018, although BBC in a report said, girls in their early teens are being trafficked into prostitution in Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh, and foreigners seeking sex can easily gain access to children who have fled conflict in Myanmar and now face a new threat; unfortunately this British broadcast network which faces accusations of bias towards Muslims and jihadists did not admit the truth – majority of these victims of forces sex slavery are Hindu Rohingyas.

Similarly, The Indian Express in its report also followed the footstep of BBC, where the Indian newspaper said, “many of the sex workers are longer term residents of the Bangladeshi camps, but the influx of tens of thousands more vulnerable women and girls is expected to fuel the trade”. Qatar-based Al Jazeera in its documentary titled – “Brides and brothels: The Rohingya trade” had also tactfully avoided mentioning, most of the female falling prey of sex-trade racket are either Hindus or those being forcibly converted into Islam. Similarly, deceptive tactics were followed by a large number of international media outlets including The IndependentAsia Times, and even the UN News.

According to recent information, militia groups in Myanmar, such as Karen Border Guard Force (KBGF) and Kayin State Border Guard Force (KSBGF) are also targeting Rohingya girls and women and forcing them into prostitution by joining hands with Chinese organized crime rackets as well as Dawood Ibrahim’s infamous D-Company.
