Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi took note of the incident. “The Congress or the leaders seen in the video are not worthy of certifying the patriotism of Veer Savarkar Ji & Netaji. Snatching T-shirts from the young children participating in the Tiranga Yatra in Surendranagar is highly condemnable. Today, those who insulted Veer Savarkar Ji and leader Subhash Chandra Bose Ji have been charged under sections 126(2), 189(3), 221, 197(C)(D), 352, and 353 of the Indian Penal Code,” he posted on Social Media platform X.

Congress leaders stop Students’ tiranga march

An FIR was registered at Chotila police station against five individuals for disrupting a march and obstructing the principal and teachers of a primary school in Sangani village from performing their duties.

According to the complaint filed by Principal Kalpesh Chauhan, the incident occurred around 11 a.m. when the school’s Tiranga Yatra coincided with the Congress leaders’ Gujarat Nyaya Yatra. The Congress leaders reportedly demanded that the students and teachers halt their march.

Police reports indicate that the Congress leaders filmed students wearing saffron T-shirts and shared the videos on social media platforms.

In the FIR, Principal Chauhan stated that one of the Congress leaders, Desai, criticized the school for making students wear T-shirts featuring RSS leader Veer Savarkar. Desai allegedly remarked, “Isn’t it shameful to ask students to wear T-shirts of Veer Savarkar, who was involved in the conspiracy to assassinate Mahatma Gandhi? Would you make them wear Nathuram Godse or Rangabilla Dawood T-shirts if I provided them? Don’t disrespect our independence by having them wear Veer Savarkar T-shirts.”

The confrontation occurred as the Congress march passed while party leaders walked from Chotila town towards Sayla. Principal Chauhan’s complaint stated that some Congress leaders insisted that he and the teachers tell the students to remove their T-shirts. Chauhan defended the T-shirts, noting that they featured freedom fighters Veer Savarkar and Netaji Bose and were donated to the school by Mumbai’s Indumati Vasantalal Charitable Trust.

“Laljibhai is well aware that such remarks can offend various communities and freedom fighters,” Chauhan mentioned in his complaint.

The five individuals were charged under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including Section 197(1)(c) for promoting enmity between communities, Section 197(1)(d) for spreading false or misleading information that threatens Bharat’s sovereignty, unity, integrity, or security, Section 126(2) for wrongful restraint, Section 189(2) for unlawful assembly, Section 221 for voluntarily obstructing a public servant from performing duties, Section 352 for the intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace, and Section 353(2) for making, publishing, or circulating false information or alarming news with the intent to incite enmity, hatred, or ill-will between different groups.

Congress’ history of anti-national stance

Rahul Gandhi’s party and its leaders are known for their Hinduphobic and anti-Bharat stances. The party leaders have repeatedly displayed their anti-national nature.

Here are some instances of anti-national stances by Congress leaders:

Pakistan Zindabad slogans were raised during the victory celebrations of Priyanka Jarkiholi, Congress Lok Sabha candidate in Chikkodi taluk of Karnataka’s Belagavi district. The Congress party is well-known for working hand-in-glove with Islamists and other anti-Bharatiya forces.

Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar stated he has received more love in Pakistan than in India. During the Gujarat Assembly Elections, he made the “neech aadmi” (low-born man) remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, exposing Congress to the charge of being elitist towards  OBC and Dalit (PM Modi belongs to the OBC Ghanchi caste). He also made a “chaiwallah” (tea-seller) jibe at the prime minister during the 2014 General Elections as the CM of Gujarat.

In May, Maharashtra LoP Vijay Wadettiwar claimed that ATS chief Karkare was not killed by Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab but by a cop affiliated with RSS. Wadettiwar was targeting Mumbai North Central BJP candidate Ujjwal Nikam, who ensured Kasab’s death sentence.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh vowed to bring back Article 370 if his party returned to power.

The Congress double speak on the revocation of Article 370, ambivalence over the crucial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and opposition to the National Register of Citizens (NRC) as well as the National Population Register (NPR) are other issues which have revealed the party’s anti-national character.

These are only some instances of the numerous times when the party has exposed its true nature.
