Definitional Warfare.
And this here, is where, we must remember what the likes of CNN, the western Deep-State’s extended arms, are trying to peddle through its opinion contributors when it comes to acts of terrorism.
Because, at one point in this article, (which, among western outlets, managed to Include India’s reaction to Israel’s plight against Jihadi terrorists immediately ) Ms. Ghitis proclaims: There’s much that Israel has done wrong. But nothing justifies what Hamas has just perpetrated. As many knowledgeable people have pointed out, what Hamas has done is clearly an act of terrorism, no matter what your definition.”
And at the very end, she repeats it once more, for dramatic exit:
“Social media, of course, was full of anti-Israel activists, already gearing up for what comes next.
“As sure as night follows day, Israel will retaliate, and millions around the world will blame Israel – and the Jews – ignoring what happened this bloody Saturday.
“The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is extraordinarily complicated. But there’s no denying that what happened on Saturday was an act of terrorism, one that deserves clear, unequivocal condemnation.”
This, 1st the innocent sounding humanitarian declaration of solidarity with Israel in the face of violent Jihadi terrorist attacks… it might sound like the most natural thing to say in such a situation, to those ears (especially Hindu ones) who’re overwhelmed with disgust and despair at these events and aren’t generally paying attention, but those who do, this one is conspicuous by its emphasis on ignoring any and all “definitions of terrorist” and “terrorist attacks”, conspicuous especially in light of the diplomatic fire-storm that was gleefully seized by Islamo-Leftists across the world who hate India and Hindus in their deepest of hearts, and have united, once again, in their condemnation of India taking recourse in its own Right-to-Self-Defense from terrorists based on foreign soil.
Indian media, on this issue, had repeatedly pointed out the monumental hypocrisy of the west, especially the “leader of the free world” US, and its declared protectee, Israel, being the worst offenders when throwing different nations’ sovereignty in the howling winds of decimated international law carrying stench of death and stink of explosives from the charred and burning ruins of whom they had declared a terrorist.
In actual, realistic, broader perspective, this is yet another subtle attempt at manipulating the emotions of Global South population, and inciting them to take a side against their own countries’ national interest in what I would call “definitional warfare in all domains” – including terrorism.
Why nations of Global South must ignore all self-decision-making and either 1: surrender their minds, intellect and will to the west and adhere to western definitions of <insert anything in this world or even another world> and 2: ignore all such definitions when western interests (or their allies’) are threatened by those definitions.
This is the same playbook employed on Ukraine conflict, where exploited, colonized – and thus impoverished and struggling Global South was expected by the privileged, wealthy, arrogant white west to just abandon all of their own ongoing crises, interests and security issues they’d battled for not just decades but centuries even; and blindly rush against Russia, breaking all bilateral relations and historical friendships, with all of their puny ecnomic and military capabilities.
The 2nd part is when Ms. Ghitis warns and shows, how anti-Israel “activism” works. And laments against it – rightfully so, I must insist.
But she and her ilk – or at least the ilk the platform on which she wrote this: CNN, roams with – they know damn well, how extremely powerful a pro-Jewish/pro-Israel lobby there is in the west post WW-II. These western countries, calling themselves paragons of “Free-Speech” and “Human-Rights”, have passed significant number of laws and shaped their societies to institutionally punish anti-semtism or hate-speech, both within and outside of the law. Even holocaust denial is criminal! And they even ban symbols! The most incredulous and lamentable case of that is prosecution against our Swastika. It’s extremely unfortunate that the same symbol whose origin was in the country where Jews were never persecuted in entire human history which is drenched with horrors and wars, and indeed the Hindu kings who worked under Swastika and provided refuge to Jews thousands of years ago, instead of turning them away (unlike the rest of the “civilized” world)…this origin story of a Hindu symbol for peace, prosperity and benediction (under which Jews lived in happily in Bharat) is condemned by the western world because of someone else’s use of it much later – whose claims to any sort of religiosity are questionable at best.
This kind of ridiculous precedent setting makes way for the dangerous argument that “because Muslims and Christian, the secondary and tertiary Abrahmic religions, had wreaked unimaginable (and largely untold, to the world-at-large at least) horrors on Hindu-India across a blood red millenium, Hindus should launch a world-wide campaign to ban the OG Abrahmic religion itself – Judaism! Because both Islam and Christian theology are fundamentally inspired by Jews’ religion!”
Which is ridiculous! Because Indian Hindus and Israeli Jews have always been friends, bound by a particular shared brand of history riddled with their own institutionalized persecution, by common enemies across humanity’s timeline.
But I digress.
The point is that I don’t resent the vast institutionalized support in the west towards Jewish people and their historical plight. I’m saying it exists. And is evident by the likes of Ms. Ghitis’s frantic articles within hours of Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.
For India and Hindus, it doesn’t.
There will always be people in the west like Ms. Frida Ghitis, to defend Israel.
For us, there’s no-one. And there never will be.
Someone who will tell the western anti-hindu, anti-Bharat hatemongers that “just like Israel, we didn’t start anything. We only respond. In our self-defense against the larger back-drop of a thousands-of-years long bloody civilizational history that is, unfortunately, still shaping the events of rather recent histories. Whether its in Pakistan or Canada. Before condemning us, look at what the others did to us and still plan to do.”
But like I said, there will be no-one for us to say so. Or at least it’ll remain a significant minority.
Despite us being almost equally big a victim of universal values of hatred by way of our adherence to a form of religion that’s been wiped out across the globe by Abrahmic faiths.
Because of what they consider us: Polythiest, Pagan, Idol-worshipers.
Worse than even Jews.
And our survival in the face of such tremendous universal hatred hasn’t come without a great price being paid in blood and sacrifice of multitude of Hindu heroes across thousands of years.
Historian Will Durant had said “The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilisation is a precious good, whose delicate complex of order and freedom, culture and peace, can at any moment be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within”.
Konrad Elst says, in his excellent article, “Was there an Islamitc genocide of Hindus?”, that Hindu victims of foreign islamist Jihadi invaders could easily be more than 6 million victims of even the jews holocaust, by even the writings of Muslim chroniclers themselves! Serious Hindu scholarship into hindus losses hasn’t even begun!
And that’s just Islamist Jihadis!
Christian colonialism had been equally devastating on Indian Hindus and our nation.
And the less we say about Communists’ treacheries, the better it is.
Point is, I don’t resent vast institutionalized support for jews in the west. Facts of the matter is, given the history of Islamists, Crusaders and Communists with jews across the world, it’s necessary. I hope for only some understanding and support (even if its not equal to that accorded to Jews) for our own historical suffering – instead of unified and universal, absolute hatred for all things Hindu and Bharat!
What I do resent is the great western exceptionalism – which is not even limited to their staunch support for Israel and Jews.
Western exceptionalism that’s rooted entirely in the values of monotheism – in everything.
At this point, I have no doubt at all that Jews managed to ultimately get their story heard, and derive sympathy and support for their cause, because they, too, are monotheist. Hell, they’re the OG monotheist of Abrahamic religions.
Ironically enough, that’s exactly the same reason Islamist extremism has successfully managed to earn western support. The way support for Hamas terrorists against innocent israeli Jews is being played out in top Abrahmo-Leftist institutions and groups (whether academic or otherwise) is nothing but a latest example of behaviour according to this monotheistic rulebook.
And its the exact same reason western countries, and other Abrhamo-Leftist cabal around the world, stands united behind Khalistani terrorists – because they’ve successfully managed to convince the rest of the Abrahmo-Leftist world that “Sikkhism is a monotheistic religion.”
That’s why the rest of theAbrahmo-Leftist world had gotten behind the Khalistanis, just as it had gotten behind Islamist terrorists, left-wing naxal terrorists, North-Eastern Christian terrorists and Dravidian-Tamilian terrorists, because of their trenchant anti-Hindu hatred, based on one sort of monotheism or another. So that using these monotheistic terrorists, the rest of the Abrahmo-Leftist world can get rid of the last polythiest, pagan, idol-worshipper heathens, infidels, kaffir, bourgeoisie, Brahminical-Aryan non-believers in monotheism.
So that the last bastion of resistance against monotheistic intolerance, our Bharat, can finally be overrun and subjugated under monotheistic rule.
The monothiesm that makes the rules as “My way or Die-way.”
This is the core of present “Rules-based-international-order.”
The monotheistic west, they will scream about these “Rules-based-international-order,” where no matter the specific circumstances of different nations, everyone has to play by the western rules. But for west and its allies, there will always, always be exceptions.
Because the hidden caveat here is: Its the definitions, which leads to formulation of rules and laws.
And so, just as the definitions for general situations are framed by the west alone, the “Unique situations and cases” – based on which these above exceptions are granted in “Rules-based-internatonal-order” – they too, are always defined by the west and west alone, and in fact become part of their “Universal values” imposed upon the rest of the world.
Same thing with terrorism.
And in the face of all this, if the argument of the white, colonizer west, still is “A terrorist/org. is who we, the western overlords of the globe, deem to be and declare so; not you, the wretched, unwashed masses, full of black, brown and asian skin tones, who live in moral squalor and champion ‘authoritarianism’ and practice ‘heathen social/religious ideologies’ and ‘heathen/infidel sorts of democracies (as outlined by democratic proheteering and cannonization outfits controlled, once again, by the superior us: like V-Dem, Freedom House, The Economist EIU, Press-Freedom, Hunger-Index, Poverty-Index, Happiness-Index, and so on…)” then mark my words:
Israel is NOT the lone victim of terrorism.
Bharat has suffered equally from it – all thanks to west itself.
And we do NOT need west’s definitional approval to call it out when we see it, anywhere. Whether it was Bin-Laden’s 9/11, Canada (and west’s support to ALL forms of anti-Hindu, anti-India terrorists), or Palaestinian terrorists targeting our friends in Israel.
We have our own experiences to draw on, as a colonized, enslaved and genocided people, to define exactly what is terrorism.
This is exactly what Israel’s ambassador Naor Gilon had emphasized as well, when he expressed his gratitude to our PM Modi’s solidarity with Israel on behalf of Bhartiya people.
We come at the problem of terrorism from a place of knowledge. Intimate, horrific knowledge, not western Abrahmo-Leftist ignorance.
