A woman, Tilottoma Mandal Putul, was stabbed to death by some assailants at village Hatbaria in Khulna district of Bangladesh early Monday, reports New Age Bangladesh. Putul’s sister and her sister’s husband were critically injured in the same attack and are are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Putul is daughter of late Mahendra Mandal of village Bittishalua Bayardanga. She went to visit her sister’s house in Hatbaria, Botiaghata upazila, where some assailants attacked Putul, her sister Deepika Mistry and her sister’s husband Prakash Mistry while they were asleep at about 3:00am.
Putul was first stabbed on her face and hand. The miscreants then hacked two others and fled. Later, they were rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Putul dead. The injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital in critical condition.
Khulna additional superintendent of police (C-Circle) Md Rashed Hasan said the reason behind the attack could not be known yet. However, police detained two people for interrogation in this regard, said the ASP. The body was kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, he added.
