As per the reports,  Sri Sri Laxmi Narayan Jiu is situated in Faridganj town of Chandpur district. The temple is very famous, located near Faridganj Police Station, barely 500 metres away. On the night of the 5th of December, a thief broke into the temple. The thief broke the donation box and took it away. The incident was recorded in the CCTV camera installed inside the temple.

The following day, the local Hindus got agitated after seeing the act. Many people questioned the security of the temple. As the matter was serious, the Police immediately launched an investigation.

Based on the CCTV footage, the Police identified Akhtar Hossain. Within 12 hours, the Police arrested the accused Muslim youth, Akhtar Hossain, from Santoshpur village under the Chardukhiya Union of the same district. The Police also recovered the broken donation boxes and other things from the temple.

In a press conference, Saidul Islam, OC of the Faridganj Police Station, said, “Akhtar came to the Police station to file a complaint that day. But, seeing the temple, he planned to steal the donation box. Instead of filing a complaint,  Akhtar waited in the area for nightfall. Then, in the middle of the night, he stole the donation box.
