On the morning of Saturday, September 30, 2023, the attack took place at the home of Radhakant Das in Bhitarband union of the upazila. This 80-year-old Swabhakabi Pallikabi Radhakant is suffering from bloody injuries in the attack! Meanwhile, his son Jugal Chandra Roy has filed a complaint at Nageshwari police station. However, so far no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
In the details of the incident, Jugal Roy said, Rafiqul is our neighbor. In the morning, my father Pallikavi Radhakant was working on the foundation of the bridge near the house. Being alone on the street, Rafiqul speaks insultingly about Hinduism due to land disputes. When my father answered him, Rafiqul attacked my father. Then tried to kill my father Pallikavi Radhakant by strangulation. At this time, the village’s Subal Chandra, Balaram, Bidhan rushed to the father’s cry and rescued him. At the sound of people coming, Rafiqul ran away. He has been absconding since the incident.
Pallikabi Radhakant, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, said that on Saturday morning, a young man named Rafiqul, a neighbor of ours, started talking to me on the west side of the diver’s bridge. At one point started talking dirty, nonsense about our sanatan religion. When I answered him, he suddenly attacked me. The attack left many bruises on my back and neck. I am now admitted in Nageshwari hospital.
Nageshwari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ashikur Rahman confirmed the attack on Kavi. He said we are trying to arrest the accused.
