Bangladesh: Police recovered a minor Hindu girl after 21 days, Sajjad Hossain arrested

The abduction of Hindu girls, both minor and major, is becoming rampant in Muslim-majority Bangladesh. Sometimes, because of the activeness of the Police force, few girls get recovered; sometimes they do not. Now, an abducted minor Hindu girl is recovered from the Hathazari area of Chattogram. Police arrested abductor Sajjad Hossain also.

As per reports, Snigdha Datta Priya(17), a resident of Battoli village under Anowara Police Station under Chattogram district, is a student of Bakalia Govt. College. According to his father, on the 19th of July, Snigdha did not return home from college. Her father searched for him everywhere and talked to her classmates to find out about her missing daughter.

The next day, her father Litan Kanti Datta filed a complaint in Bakalia Police Station. In his written complaint, he alleged that a Muslim youth named Sajjad Hossain kidnapped her daughter from in front of the village. After receiving the complaint, police were not active, alleged Mr Datta. But after the intervention of the Hindu activists, the Police became active and started hunts to trace his daughter. On the 3rd of August, Bakalia Police filed an FIR and started an investigation.

Today evening, Police raided a home at Hathazari and recovered the kidnapped Hindu girl and arrested Sajjad Hossain(22). Officer-in-Charge of Bakalia Police Station Abdur Rahim said, “We recovered the girl and arrested the accused. Both will be produced at court tomorrow.”
