Bangladesh: Islamists take an oath in Chattagram to do Jihad in Bharat; video went viral

A group of Islamists took an oath to do Jihad in Bharat. Workers and leaders of the Bangladesh-based Islamic organisation ‘Hefazat-e-Islam’ took oath in the presence of Mufti Harun Bin Ezhar. 

A video of the incident is already viral on social media. As per the reports, the oath-taking ceremony happened on the 3rd of March, 2024.

 In the video, ‘Amir’ of Hefazat-e-Islam, Muhibullah Babunagari and Mufti Harun Bin Ezhar took an oath to do Jihad in Hindusthan(Bharat) and Arakan(Mayanmar). 

In the viral video, Mufti says, “Lacs of students of Qaumi Madrasas are with us. Students from different universities are with us. They are ready to do Jihad.”

Also, Jihadis went through a ‘baiyat’. Harun said, “Do dua, we would be successful in winning Arakan and Hindusthan through Jihad.”

During the oath-taking, several top leaders ‘Hefazat-e-Islam’ were present, including ‘Amir’ Muhibullah Babunagari and his khadem Enamul Haque, Harun Ezhar, Kamrul Islam, Helal Uddin. 

Harun Ezhar is a known terrorist. Earlier, he was arrested in links with banned terrorist group ‘Huzi’. Harun Ezhar is presently managing head of ‘Lalkhan Bazar Jamiutul Ulum Al Islamia Madrasa’ in Chattagram. In 2009, he was arrested for planning a terrorist attack in Indian Embassy. In 2013, a bomb blast happened in his madrasa and three students died. In 2021, Harun Ezhar led a violent protest against PM Narendra Modi while he was in Bangladesh.
