Bangladesh: Hindu woman murdered in Bogura, the Police arrested neighbour Nayan Ali

The Police arrested a muslim youth named Nayan Ali for murdering a Hindu woman in Bogura. Yesterday, on 26th of October, the Police officials informed about the investigation and recent developments in a press conference in the Police Super’s office.

The murdered woman has been identified as Asha Mohanta. She was a resident of Banail village under Shibganj Upazila of Bogura district. She worked as an ‘Ansar’ member. 

As per the information shared by the Police, the accused Nayan Ali was her neighbour. About a year ago, Asha and Nayan got involved in an illicit affair. Few months ago, the accused Nayan got married. After this, problems arose among them. They regularly quarreled. To end this, Nayan Ali decided to murder Asha. 

On 23rd of October, Nayan went to Asha’s house. There he spent some time with her. Later, Nayan Ali murdered Asha Mohanta by suffocating her. Then, he fled from the area. 

Based on the complaint by Asha’s husband, the Police launched an investigation. The Police identified after checking the call list of Asha’s phone. Meanwhile, the Police arrested the accused Nayan Ali. 

The Police also informed that during interrogation, the accused has confessed his crime. After production in the court, the judge has sent the accused to judicial custody.
