Bangladesh: Awami League leader Muhammad Russel brutally tortured poor Hindu woman

Persecution of Hindu minorities continues in Bangladesh. Now, the news is coming in from Jhalkathi town of Bangladesh where an Awami League leader brutally tortured a poor Hindu woman. The woman worked as a domestic help in the house of that leader.

As per the police complaint, Radha Rani worked as a domestic helper in the house of Muhammad Russel for one month. The wage was fixed at BDT 1,700 in Bangladeshi currency. But after working for one month, Muhammad Russel paid only BDT 700.

As she didn’t receive the said amount of wage, Radha Rani refused to work in Russel’s house. On the 19th of July, promising to give wages, Awami League leader Muhammad Russel and his wife locked Radha Rani. Then they alleged that Radha Rani stole a mobile phone from their house. But she denied the allegation. But Russel and his wife started to beat her, broke her leg and threw hot water. After three hours of brutal torture, Radha Rani was released.

Later, a complaint was filed in Jhalkathi Police Station. After this, local Govt officials reached out and promised all possible help to the persecuted family. Now, Radha Rani is undergoing treatment in the Medicine department of Jhalkathi Town Hospital. Police are investigating the matter.
