Sree Kshitish Chandra Acharya, priest of the Mohanta estate brought an allegation against Ziaur Rahman, Member of Parliament of Chapainawabganj-2 (Nachol-Gomstapur-Bholahat) Constituency and President of District Awami League and his followers of occupying the temporality
property belonging to Mohanta Estate of Rahanpur at Gomstapur Upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
Sree Kshitish Chandra Acharya, priest of the Mohanta estate in a press conference made this allegation at the head office of Mohant Estate in Rahanpur of Gomstapur Upazila recently. Kshitish Chandra Acharya earlier sought nomination for Chapainawabganj-2 seat from Awami League.
Kshitish Chandra Acharya In the press conference alleged that MP Ziaur Rahman’s brother Mukut and close associate Ripon took possession of 22 bigha of Debottar ( Temporality) property of Mohant Estate in Rahanpur Union for setting up a park. They along with their associates Shaheen, Entaz Ali and Municipal Councilor Abdur Razzak came to the guest room of Rahanpur Mohanta Estate at night about 15 days ago and showed a pistol and took a sign in a stamp for setting a park on the land. He signed the stamp for fear of life as they were drunken position.
Priest also said that after the incident they ( The grabbers ) offered a compromise through his daughter and he did not take any legal action; But they did not compromise.
Instead, they planted trees on the occupied land. In view of this, he revealed the matter through a press conference and take lawful action against them later.
Priest complained and said, “Before this, Member of Parliament Ziaur Rahman took 10 bighas of land of Mohant Estate from me. He ( MP Ziaur Rahman) also took huge amount of money for conducting elections in the previous term. I sought nomination for this seat from Awami League In the previous term. I may want nomination again, Ziaur Rahman caused this incident withb his followers for this. Apart from this, his man named Abdur Razzaq filed a false case against me with a view to harassing.
Regarding the complaint, Member of Parliament Ziaur Rahman said, ‘No such incident happened. Someone has fielded him (Kshitish) against me to tarnish my image before the election. Among those who have been accused, Councilor Abdur Razzak is my close friend. He also has a good relationship with Kshitish. I know that Abdur Razzak did not file any case. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has a case against Kshitish for allegedly misappropriating property.
When asked about the taking of 10 bighas of land, the member of parliament said, “He cannot show any proof of this.” It is completely false.’
