PFI terrorists destroyed digital evidence: Kerala

National Investigation Agency (NIA) officers found that Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists destroyed key digital evidence in the Kerala Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS) terror case. Terrorists arrested in the case claimed that they burnt all the electronic gadgets that were used earlier.

The PFI terrorists testified that their leaders in hiding had given secret instructions to destroy all the digital evidence. After the ban on PFI, the leaders gave orders to destroy all the electronic devices in hand. This was done to prevent investigation teams from recovering the information.

Mobile phones, laptops, tabs, and smartwatches were all smashed and burnt. These digital tools were allegedly used for religious terrorist propaganda and communication between terrorist groups. All the phones used before the PFI ban have been replaced by new phones.

After being summoned for questioning, the NIA confiscated the digital devices of former Popular Front workers into custody. This was when it became clear that they had new phones that had been used only recently.

After detailed questioning, it was found that all the electronic gadgets were destroyed. With this, the NIA is summoning all those PFI terror suspects questioned earlier and released. NIA is collecting related evidence. The NIA is now investigating using the mobile phones seized in the ongoing raids as crucial evidence.
