Football hooligans turn against Kerala police

In Kerala, sporadic clashes erupted between football hooligans on Sunday night until early Monday morning. ‘Fans’ celebrated in various parts of the state after Lionel Messi-led Argentina defeated defending champions France in a penalty shootout. Drunken fans drove and rode around well above the speed limit and indulged in violence.

Police officers received the full impact and were beaten up in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kollam, and Kannur. Football hooligans have been at each other in Kerala since the world cup began.

In Ernakulam, football revelries of Argentina’s win turned violent. One incident happened near Kochi’s Kaloor Stadium Junction, where a group of Argentinian fans blocked traffic. Policemen on motorcycle patrol approached them to clear the way. Angry drunkards retaliated heavily and attacked the officers.

A video showing policemen being manhandled and one being dragged by the same group of men is doing the rounds on social media. CPOs Lipin Raj and Vipin from Ernakulam North police station were admitted to the hospital following the violent attack. At least five police officers were abused and attacked in the vicinity.

Three accused, Arun George, Rivin, and Sarath were arrested and remanded. Police are searching for Jestifin and Manu, residents of the same area. The accused have switched off their mobile phones and are hiding.

Four youngsters were injured in Palliyamoola, Kannur, after an alleged argument between Argentina and Brazil fans on Sunday night. Brazil did not even reach the finals. Five people stabbed Anurag (24), who was returning home after watching the final match between Argentina and France. He was critically injured and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kannur. His friends Adarsh (23), Nakul (23), and Alex Antony (22), who tried to stop the attack, were also beaten and hospitalized.

However, Town Inspector P A Binumohan arrested the accused and said they were disguised as football fans. Those arrested are accused in many criminal cases and addicted to narcotic drugs. He also said that previous hostility led to the attack. It is alleged that the night was used to target peaceful Hindus returning home after watching the final match.

Safwan (23) from Bushra Manzil and Salman Faris (18) were arrested by Thalassery police for rash driving at 2.30 am on Monday. Along with their friends, they blocked the main road and created a ruckus when the police team led by Sub-Inspector M P Manoj arrived. When police questioned them, a whole gang of goons arrived and attacked the police party.

SI Manoj, several policemen, and a few fans were injured. Thalassery Judicial First Class Magistrate remanded the two accused. Police registered a case against 14 people in connection with the incident. Jaihind TV reported that another police officer from Thalassery was also injured in a separate incident in the same locality.

In Pozhiyur near Parassala, Thiruvananthapuram, Sub-Inspector S Sajikumar was attacked from behind. The incident happened around 11.30 pm, and the officer was beaten, kicked, stomped, and dragged on the road, sustaining head and arm injuries. Police arrested Justin (32) while his accomplices were absconding.

Mathrubhumi reported that DYFI and AIYF activists clashed in Kottarakara, Kollam. The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) is the militant wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) is a similar youth wing of the Communist Party of India (CPI).

Across the state, there were multiple drunken brawls on the streets. Hooligans damaged several private vehicles. Communist leaders rejoiced when the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC), also known as Bevco, registered a sale of around Rs 50 cr on 18 December, much more than the usual Sunday collections.

Qatar FIFA World Cup – The Worst in History

Even before the event started, fans knew that Qatar used corrupt FIFA officials and former players to grab the sporting event from other deserving nations. Suspiciously, former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and former UEFA president Michel Platini were cleared of corruption charges by a Swiss court in July. Blatter headed FIFA for 17 years before being kicked out in late 2015, but the damage had been done by then.

Asians knew that at least 20,000 migrant workers were literally murdered on site for Qatar to build their stadiums. Most deaths of Bharatiya and Nepali migrant workers in Qatar were reported as ‘natural deaths,’ often manipulated into sudden and unexplained heart or respiratory failure. The quasi-official number is 6,500, none of whose families were compensated.

In 2020, FIFA withdrew its corruption complaint against Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the Qatari president of Paris Saint-Germain. French judges investigating the controversial awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar did not question FIFA president Gianni Infantino on his close ties to the country on October 13, 2021, when he was heard as a witness. That same year, Infantino established his primary residence in Doha. He is married to Lebanese Leena Al Ashqar, and the couple has four children.

The ill-fated Qatar world cup began with clerics handing out flyers on Islam and public address systems in metros blaring out Islamist prayers. Qatari government-sponsored conversion mafia agents were everywhere. As expected, it was less of a sporting affair and more of an Islamist conversion event.

With cancelled flights and poor attendance, Qatar knew that the circus was a flop show as soon as the event began. To counter this news, Qatar cancelled a few flights from Morocco and went on a media blitz. This subdued the news about mass cancellations from multiple nations.

Seats remained vacant, and expected visitors from Europe never turned up. Banning sex, homosexuality and liquor did not help matters as far as attendance from this region was concerned. Little did the Europeans know that all the above-mentioned vices were available on the black market. As Keralites in Qatar often remind us, bootlegging is an ancient practice in the Islamic nation.

Qatar invited well-known terrorists like Zakir Naik, assuming that Gulf Muslims could be attracted. It backfired, and fans from gulf countries shunned the world cup. Several pre-booked chartered flights from the UAE and Saudi Arabia were cancelled. The jihadi theatrics alienated hardcore fans from Bharat, who withdrew their bookings and preferred to watch it from the comfort of their home. Qatari officials then tried to downplay Naik’s visit, but the damage had been done.

Qatar had turned to propaganda, and Muslims from countries like Bangladesh and Muslim-dominated areas in Bharat (especially in Kerala) were roped in to boost their image. These Islamists sent money home and erected giant cutouts of players like Messi, Ronaldo, and Neymar. Giant screens were erected in Muslim areas in Kerala, where most of the violence mentioned above erupted. Ultimately, innocent policemen had to bear the brunt of the cheap appeasement policies of the green communist rulers.

Experts pointed out that sloppy refereeing throughout the tournament ensured an Argentinian win. How Morocco progressed made others allege corruption even during the matches and that there was a reason behind such slack refereeing. French President Emmanuel Macron’s gallery and on-field antics seemed fishy and did not impress the French players.

Even as the world cup progressed, Belgian police arrested Eva Kaili, a European Parliament vice-president, and four others in connection with an investigation into corruption involving World Cup host Qatar. Kaili is a Greek Socialist member of Parliament, and Euros worth Rs. 6 cr was confiscated from her hotel room. All four were either Italian citizens or originally came from Italy. Shortly before the World Cup started in November, she met Qatar’s Labour Minister Ali bin Samikh Al Marri.

France played well but went out with just silver in the finals. Kylian Mbappe, the French striker, finished as the tournament’s top scorer with eight goals and topped it by scoring a hat-trick in the final. Mbappe was unplayable at times and has just turned 24 on 20 December.

An authoritarian Qatari ruler was seen patting the much-glorified Lionel Messi like a pet animal. He was fondled not on his shoulders but on the nape of his neck. Like his nickname, the goat, the subordination was total.

There were a few positives, though. Argentina, China’s vassal state, ruled by a left-wing government, is reeling under an economic crisis, and the citizens got something to cheer about. Like Delhiites, Argentinians too believed in freebies, and one of the wealthiest countries in the world around 100 years ago is now reeling under annual inflation of 100 per cent. It has wiped out savings, rendered millions homeless, and left nearly 40 percent below the poverty line.

France (on the brink of becoming an Islamic republic) relaxed since only relatively small-scale violence erupted. Islamists living in France wreak havoc whenever the country wins. They are incredibly violent when an Islamic nation like Morocco loses. The biggest radical Islamist riots in France and much of Europe during the world cup broke out when France defeated Morocco in the semi-final and eliminated them. The media quickly painted it as nothing more than mere colonial hatred.

Incidentally, Morocco reached the final four and celebrated each win by offering ‘Sajdah Al Shukr,’ which means prostration of gratitude on the ground. They broadcast live streams in which they invited the viewers to embrace Islam.

The whole world united in congratulating Japan. They played well, and Japanese fans conducted themselves even better. Their cleaning of stadiums with blue trash bags following their country’s upset wins over heavyweights Germany and Spain went viral and inspired similar acts of tidiness. The Samurai Blues also left their locker rooms spotless after each game, even after elimination, and earned the world’s respect. Fans from other countries soon followed their ritual.

Conclusion

Kerala police did recoup and, by Monday morning, arrested a few accused who attacked police officers. Most were Abrahamics or aligned with the ruling political outfit. Though local media reported the violence, they drowned the news as the names of the accused started to trickle out.

Though Kerala has a rich footballing history and skirmishes are common, violence against police is unprecedented. The radical terror group, the Popular Front of India, and anti-national Christian cults like the Latin Catholic Church have shown others how it is done. Unfortunately, arguments about the final world cup match are yet to subside.

Law-abiding Keralites usually rush to assist the police whenever goons turn against them. Incidentally, it did not happen this time, even though there were several onlookers when the attacks happened on Sunday night. Has the Kerala police lost the respect it commanded from the general public?
