Early Life and Education

Karthik was born into a loving family, the eldest son of Sri Raghunandan, a retired employee of Bescom, and Smt. Gayathri, a dedicated homemaker. From a young age, Karthik exhibited a thirst for knowledge, nurtured by his mother, who instilled in him the values of spirituality and education. Under her guidance, he began learning the Vedas and other spiritual Granthas, which laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

Academically, Karthik was a brilliant student. His passion for learning led him to pursue a Master of Science degree from Vellore Institute of Technology. After completing his education, he joined Indian Institute of Science, where he worked on various research projects. His dedication and hard work eventually earned him the position of Chief Product Operations in a company / renowned startup in Bangalore.

The Call to Spirituality

In 2016, Karthik’s life took a significant turn when he saw a commercial about Sri Bharadwaj Swamigal’s ashram on television. Intrigued and inspired, he decided to seek the blessings of the Guru. Early one morning, he made his way to the ashram in Chennai, filled with hope and anticipation.

Upon arriving at the ashram, Karthik freshened up and met Guruji. He expressed his desire to seek blessings and guidance. To Karthik’s astonishment, Guruji revealed that he had dreamt of a young boy coming to the ashram seeking blessings from Parama Guru. This serendipitous encounter marked the beginning of Karthik’s Srividya journey.

Guruji instructed Karthik to perform an archana (a form of worship) at the Pramaguru Sandhi and promised to return after the pooja was completed. Impressed by Karthik’s devotion and sincerity, Guruji accepted him as his disciple. After two years of dedicated service to his Guru, Karthik was initiated into the greatest mantras of Srividya.

The Gift of the Vigraha

In 2018, during a visit to Bangalore, Guruji expressed his desire to instal Sri Lalitha Maha Tripurasundri murti that had been worshipped by his family for over a century. This murti held immense significance, and after much contemplation, Karthik agreed to perform the pratishthapana (consecration) of the Devi in his home at AGS Layout, Bangalore.

What began as a personal devotion soon transformed Karthik’s home into a temple, attracting devotees from various parts of Karnataka. The vigraha, now named Siddeshwari Rajareshwari, became a focal point for spiritual gatherings and worship.

Spreading the Teachings of Devi

Since his meeting with Guruji in 2016, Karthik has dedicated his life to spreading the teachings of Devi to the people. He conducts regular classes on Lalitha Trishati and Kadagamala, educating over 500 individuals on the significance of these spiritual texts. His classes are not just about recitation; they are a deep dive into the philosophy and teachings embedded within these scriptures.

Karthik’s commitment to spirituality extends beyond the classroom. He ensures that all four Navaratri festivals are celebrated in a traditional Srividya sampradaya, honoring the Devi with devotion and reverence. Karthik’s day begins early, around 6 AM. He starts his morning with abhishekam (ritual bathing) and pooja (worship) to the Devi. After completing his morning rituals, he navigates the bustling Bangalore traffic to reach his office, where he juggles responsibilities as the Chief Product Operations. 

His workday is filled with challenges and accomplishments, but Karthik remains grounded in his spiritual practice. He returns home around 9 PM, often exhausted from the day’s demands. However, his commitment to his spiritual path drives him to conduct classes on Trishati and Kadagamala in the evenings. He also takes the time to address any questions or concerns from devotees who visit the temple.
