Bharat’s semiconductor revolution has begun in Assam, said Himanta Biswa Sarma

On 13rd of March, Wednesday, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the semiconductor packaging plant in the state, whose foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will attract an investment of INR 27,000 crore.

CM Sarma thanked PM Narendra Modi for establishing a semiconductor plant in the state. Sarma said, “Bharat’s semiconductor revolution has begun in Assam”.

“Assam being situated in the remotest part of this country, we never thought that we would be the pioneers of the semiconductor revolution. But because of the confidence that Modi ji has in the northeast, the semiconductor revolution has started in Assam”, Sarma said while addressing reporters.

The semiconductor plant will attract an investment of INR 27,000 crore and create the employment of 30,000 youths.

CM Sarma also thanked TATA Sons and its MD N. Chandrasekaran.

In his speech , Chandrasekaran said, “ At least 50,000 jobs will be created in the state of Assam. There will be an expansion as we cross the early milestones. We are also trying to see how we can use AI so that it becomes very very fab here and also the assembly unit in Assam.”
