“In the span of a single fortnight, the Chief Minister of West Bengal told a campaign rally that 200 CRPF vehicles were arriving from Uttar Pradesh via Ayodhya “to attack you, people.”

At another rally in Naxalbari, she instructed women to arm themselves with cooking implements and confront central forces at polling booths. “You people do cooking,” she said. “I need not say anything more.”

In Malda, seven judicial officers deployed by the Supreme Court of India were surrounded by a mob for nine hours, denied food and water, and had their vehicles pelted with stones during evacuation. The National Investigation Agency later found evidence of prior planning……..”
