“Govt to soon notify CAA rules expediting Bharatiya citizenship for minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan: Report”, Swarajyamag, September 20, 2023:

“The rules of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) are likely to be notified soon, News18 reported citing government sources.

The Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 seeks to fast-track citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim undocumented migrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

The legislation has been ineffective since its passage in Parliament four years ago as the government had so far sought eight extension to frame the CAA rules.

According to the News18 report, the government is likely to notify the CAA rules soon. Following the notification of rules, the national census will taken, and then the process of delimitation will begin with the government forming a delimitation commission…..”
