A Hindu teacher, Sunil Chandra Das, acting Principal of Bhadeswar Nasir Uddin High School and College, was compelled to stay in hiding for one month after he was framed in a smear campaign in Golapganj Upazila of Sylhet. The allegation leveled against him was that he had forced a female Muslim student to remove her Hijab.
On March 15, Sunil Chandra was teaching the students the importance of oxygen and face masks and, in the process, asked all the students to take a deep breath. However, a female student refused to remove her niqab to complete the assignment. Some students and their parents stated that the teacher had responded with, “Teachers are like your parents. You can take off the niqab considering me to be your father.”
At that time, the girl accepted the request. She removed her niqab to participate in the experiment. However, things took a different twist after she went home and narrated the incident to her parents. Her mother called the school’s administration and complained about the teacher; on the other hand, the girl’s father took to Facebook to make a post that sparked outrage among the local Muslims.
The matter was presented in a manner that implied that the Hindu teacher, who was also serving as the acting Principal, had made derogatory remarks against the Islamic veil and had forced the student to take off her niqab. Seeing the locals enraged, Sunil Chandra, accompanied by several teachers and members of the school’s governing body, went to the girl’s residence and apologized to her father.
After accepting the teacher’s apology, the girl’s father made a Facebook post warning against false and fabricated rumors. “Such campaigns are shameful. The teacher was discussing the use of masks in the class. There was nothing about removing my daughter’s niqab,” he said in his post after understanding the actual incident with the teacher.
However, the damage was done as another hate-mongering unidentified girl in a burkha had already posted a video on Facebook claiming that she was in the same class and she had seen the teacher forcing the girl to take off the niqab. The inciting video stoked fury among local Islamists, who refused to listen to the girl’s father and alleged that the teacher had disgraced Islam and the Islamic headgear.
Following the uproar, UP (Union Parishad) Chairman Shamim Ahmed called a meeting on March 20. In the meeting held inside the college premises, locals demanded exemplary punishment for Sunil. In his defense, a teacher who had accompanied Sunil to the girl’s home stated that “some people are trying to fish in troubled water.”
Two bodies were formed to investigate the matter, but the Hindu teacher had to flee for safety reasons. “Our investigation is at the final stage. We’ll submit the report soon,” stated Abhijit Kumar Pal who is the Upazila Secondary Education Officer. Union Parishad Chairman Shamim Ahmed observed, “Some people are making it an issue by mixing lies with the truth on Facebook.”
“Things have become complicated… I took leave,” said Sunil Chandra and refused to comment further, stating that the matter was under administrative investigation. He hopes that a fair investigation will soon reveal the truth.
Framing Of Hindu Teachers
Before Sunil, several other Hindu teachers have been framed in similar accusations surrounding the Hijab controversy, reports Dhaka Tribune. Teachers have also been harassed and beaten on false cases of whipping girls for wearing the Hijab.
One of them is Tushar Kanti Barua, the Headmaster of Jorarganj Bouddha High School in Mirsarai, Chittagong who had to tender a temporary resignation demanded by the school committee. He was also physically assaulted by relatives of a girl student who alleged that Tushar had beaten her for wearing the Hijab.
Amodini Pal, a Hindu teacher at Daul Barbakpur High School in Naogaon, came under fire after some students and guardians vandalized the school claiming that Amodini had insulted the Hijab. After assembly, the Hindu teacher disciplined some 16-18 students, including Hindu students. Later the incident was twisted into a “hijab controversy.”
The planned and synchronized targeting of Hindu teachers in Bangladesh appears to be a vile way for the Islamists in Bangladesh to take revenge for the Hijab controversy in Bharat. It is an eye-opener to see even the students being a part of this despicable conspiracy against their teachers proving that the Islamists are never too young to work on their innate hate against the non-Muslims. They are, in fact, trained from a very young age to hate non-Muslims.
Hindus are already living a hellish life in the Islamic republic. This plotting against the Hindu teachers will only leave them jobless, making life for the Hindus miserable even in the cities.
The Muslims are all-out to rout Hindus from Bangladesh. In the name of Islam, they blame Hindus with blasphemy, make false allegation via fabricated stories to establish their claim and incite fellow Muslims to wage a violent attack on the Hindus. So Hindus are on the run always. When they leave their ancestral home, the neighboring Muslims capture their land by virtue of the most notorious Enemy Property Act. And by that way, the Hindus have lost 26 million acres of their ancestral land since the independence of Bangladesh in 1971. So it’s a well planned tactic that takes shape in various forms in different times. So it’ll be not surprising if Hindus are eliminated from B’desh within next decade. Ironically, hijab is not mandatory in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Algeria, Mali, and in Europe. There are Muslims well there. They practice Islam in good faith. But never they have waged, it has been reported, any violence on the issue of hijab. The Tuareg (the fierce nomadic desert tribe of Sahara) women do not wear any hijab or burqa at all; it is their menfolk who cover their whole face and head with white cloths! Even in Iran, Pakistan many Muslim women are seen in public places yet not burqa-cladded! So Bangladeshi Muslims are not fighting over hijab for the sake of Islam, but the are making it a issue to inflame public sentimments to wage violence or pogrom of Hindus to eliminate them.
