Mukul Adhikari (18) stabbed to death by out-on-bail Irshad in Delhi

18-year-old Mukul Adhikari from Almora district in Uttarakhand was brutally stabbed to death by Irshad in Delhi. Since the perpetrator was an Islamist with a criminal history and the victim a Hindu, the news barely made it to the so-called secular national media.

Mukul and his family are originally from the Sakuni village, Bagwalipokhar tehsil in Almora. Ex-Serviceman Devendra Singh Bisht, the Sarpanch of Sakuni village told the media that Khimanand Adhikari and his family were living near Khanpur, Delhi for many years. Mukul worked hard to support his family and used to repair mobile phones for a living. Khimanand has two daughters and Mukul was his only son.

The accused has been identified as Irshad, a resident of Uttarakhand. Irshad was out on bail while serving a sentence for stabbing another person, some time ago. The accused had been harassing Mukul for some time and used to attack Mukul constantly. There is also news that both Mukul and the accused scuffled with each other on several occasions.

On February 13th, the accused stabbed and murdered Mukul around 11 am with a knife. There is resentment amongst the Hindus in the locality after this murder. Bisht said that authorities cannot write off the incident as ‘old enmity’ and wanted the Delhi government to conduct a high-level inquiry into the murder of the young migrant from Uttarakhand. He added that they will not rest until the administration wakes up.

Villagers in Shakuni are protesting and the atmosphere is of sorrow and anger. Mukul’s parents and sisters remain inconsolable. When will such atrocities against Hindus ever end?

  1. What I should comment over it? Betray&murder are most sinister acts. Today people commit murder too frequently. Surprising इर्शाद was on bail from court. He was in jail for stabbing crime against a guy. He repeated the same crime against Mukul Adhikari now. When judiciary will be reformed?
