In a shocking incident in Tamil Nadu, teats of cows were cut off by unruly elements as part of a protest against a school. A private school in Kallakurichi was vandalized following the death of a girl on its premises. Some of the ‘protestors’ reportedly cut off the teats of cows being reared in the institution. Members of an anti-Hindu, anti-Bharat NGO and a Dravidian outfit have been arrested for conspiracy in the issue.
Srimathi, a 17 year old girl, had allegedly committed suicide on the premises of the boarding school she was studying in. Her mother alleged that the management of Sakthi International School was trying to hide something and that her daughter’s death was not a suicide. While initially, her family peacefully protested against the institution, after a few days, the protest became violent and protestors vandalized the school and its properties on July 14.
Benches, ACs, and desktops were stolen and vehicles were set on fire. The stone-pelting mob also attacked policemen. The incident was a spectacular failure of intelligence as the mob had gathered by spreading information on WhatsApp groups which intelligence agencies failed to track.
The height of vandalism and anti-social behaviour was cutting off the teats of innocent cows being reared in the school premises and nearby. Initially, video of a man pleading with the protestors to not hurt the cows went viral. Other videos of cows being stolen by the so-called protestors also emerged. Now accusations of cutting off the teats of some cows have also emerged.
Eswaran, chief of Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi(KMDK), while talking to the media, said, “They vandalized the buildings, stole some items and set fire to buses. But the most horrible of them all was cutting off the teats of cows. It causes unbearable pain”. KMDK is an ally of DMK, which encourages abuse against Gau Mata and Hindus for revering cows.
It’s to be noted that office bearers of Makkal Adhikaram, a patently anti-Hindu NGO, and Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam were arrested in connection to the violence during the protest. While this has been the case, DMK sympathisers are trying to connect the school with RSS and BJP to put the blame on the latter. Their twisted logic is that anyone who runs a goshala should be a BJP/RSS person.
DMK, Dravidar Kazhagam, other Dravidian outfits, and so-called ‘Dalit’ organisations like Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi(VCK) have been continuously abusing Hindu reverence of cows and encouraging beef eating, lying that it was a staple food of Tamil ancestors. They often conduct beef festivals to normalize eating it and could very well be behind the current issue.
