A video of a man offering prayers inside a Communist Party office is making waves on Kerala’s social media. The Kollam native, who walks around selling bedsheets, had reportedly requested space in the party office to offer his prayers — and the local cadre readily allowed him to do so.
The video was shared by CPM member Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of former Kerala home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan through his Facebook page.

Here’s the translation of his post:
“Words have no place in front of this sight that binds hearts. When a man, drenched in rain, asks for a place to pray, holding fast to his faith, a political party office prepares it for him, creating circumstances conducive to that man’s faith. This is the CPI(M) – an organization that protects the faith and goodness of people. This love and brotherhood are the biggest strength of our state.”
The post was widely appreciated by party supporters. However, the party’s history of responding very differently to expressions of faith from other communities has not gone unnoticed.
Bineesh Kodiyeri and other communist workers, now having goosebumps over this video, have conveniently forgotten how the same CPM disrupted a Ganapathi Homam conducted in connection with the inauguration of a new school building near Kozhikode, just a year ago. Back then, the school authorities were accused of trying to implement the “Gujarat model” of the RSS in Kerala. The education minister, V. Sivan Kutty, even ordered an inquiry, and members of the school management were arrested.
In the past, the CPM also attempted to promote something it called “secular yoga,” a stripped-down version of yoga that excluded Aum chanting, Surya Kriya, and Sanskrit shlokas.

Last week, a fresh row erupted when CPM state secretary M. V. Govindan visited popular astrologer Madhava Poduval. Party members accused him of meeting the astrologer to check his horoscope. It later turned out he had visited only to enquire about the astrologer’s health, as he was unwell at the time. The point I am trying to make here is this; even a casual visit to an astrologer is prohibited as per CPM party principles!
The CPM also bars its members from visiting temples. Senior leader Kadakampally Surendran was once asked to explain his visit to the Guruvayur temple, and the mother of all ironies is that the one who raised this matter in the CPM state committee was none other than Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Bineesh Kodiyeri’s father.
The CPM’s written or unwritten rule is plain and simple: conducting a Ganapathi Homam, visiting temples, meeting astrologers, and perhaps celebrating Krishna Janmashtami or Vinayaka Chaturthi can invite inquiries, disciplinary action, or even arrests, depending on the “seriousness” of the matter.
Yet, the same party was quick to turn its office into a prayer space for offering namaz.
Why is that? What are your thoughts about this?
Bineesh Kodiyeri, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, V. Sivan Kutty, Mamta Bannerjee, Ahhilesh Yadav, Lalu Yadav, Tejasvi Yadav, Pawan Khera, Mahatma Moitra and so on may sport Hindu names, but they are not only rabid anti-Hindu hater, they also have a very servile and dhimmi relationship with Mohammadans and Mohammadanism. This is also true of most “secular” Hindus to a varying degree. So the actual Hindus by faith are rapidly sliding into a minority. We are thankful to HinduPost and it’s reporters for doing a very humanistic work of reporting anti-Hindu hate and bigotry.
The reasons for rapidly increasing islamization of our country is not so difficult to understand in my view, but how to prevent our country into turning a Mohammadan andh-bhakt, jihadi state is the real issue.
So, the reason, in my view of Hindus running away from their own folks is to seek safety in predatory Mohammadan ecosystem, and consequent “respect”, ego power-trip they enjoy over their hounded ex-co-religionists, even if in reality they ultimately are pathetic idiots to their pious Mohammadans, unless they convert. If in a region, whether Hindus are 70-80 percent or more or whether they are less, a Mohammadan predator is able to entrap, rape, forcibly convert Hindus in a very similar manner. And faithful Hindus just try to unsee or discard the victim and try to flee from a place of tension and violence. The predatory scavenger like behavior of radical Mohammadans is in sharp contrast to Hindus who have evolved themselves into bovids, cervids like state. So while recording, reporting these anti-Hindu hate incidents is very important, berating these predators or even administration/government ironically seems to have opposite effect. Pious Mohammadans feel a power, ego boost, while more faithful Hindus want to become either “secular” or convert.
One thing I think we may instead do is to check with various Hindu organizations about any steps they are taking or plan to take on each such incidents, and include their reactions and follow-up actions in the reporting or later. And hope that this may induce a behavior akin to like few widbeest turning back together and trying to tackle hyenas/lions. If you notice predators are no match to rganised wildest, buffalos etc. when few of them turn back together on these predators, instead of all prey targets trying to run away.
Long term we may try to evolve ourselves away from the current instinctively fearful and unorganised bovids, cervids like state. Since converting to a Jihadi nation is no solution.
