In Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun, a Hindu man who returned after watching the Bollywood movie Gadar-2 was praising the film’s character Tara Singh from outside his house. He was simply narrating the dialogues spoken by actor Sunny Deol, and during this time the a Muslim youth was passing through the neighborhood started abusing him and his family.
On protesting, the Hindu man his relatives were beaten up by a Muslim mob. On the compliant of the victim, the police have started investigation by registering an FIR against the two accused.
The incident happened in a village Manikapur Kaur, which falls under Moosazhag police station area. Amit Gupta, a resident of the village, had come on Monday after watching Gadar-2 film. He was standing outside the house late in the evening. His parents and other relatives were also sitting there. During this, Amit started praising Gadar-2 film. He was explaining how Sunny Deol (Tara Singh) had performed in the film. How did he get his son back from Pakistan? He was telling the hand pump scene shown in the film.
All of a sudden, a Muslim youth Tausif, who was passing by, interrupted him and questioned him why he is talking about Muslims. Amit told him that this isn’t about Muslims, he is only narrating the story of Gadar-2 movie. Tausif started abusing him and suddenly grabbed his neck, and ripped off his clothes.
Amit was taken aback by this sudden attack. However, his neighbors and relatives intervened and sorted things out. However, after few minutes, Tausif, accompanied by 10-12 individuals forcefully entered his house. The Muslim mob attacked Amit’s family and broke many things.
The victim Amit reached Moosazhag police station and submitted a complaint to the police. Amit alleges that the police got the complaint he had given earlier changed. He alleges that other people had also come to kill him and his family, those were making objectionable remarks, but Police has removed their names.
However, after pressure created by the local people, Police was forced to write another detailed complaint. An FIR has been lodged on the same complaint, in which only Tausif and Yusuf have been named.
In this regard, Musazhag Police Station President Shivendra Bhadauria said that the FIR has been registered on the basis of the victim’s complaint. There was a controversy regarding praising Gadar-2 film. Police has arrested couple of accused and at the moment the matter is calm.
