Akbaruddin Owaisi, who was made pro-tem speaker in Telangana Assembly has a history of hate speeches to his credit

Controversial AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi (brother of Asaduddin Owaisi) has been sworn in as the Protem Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly in Hyderabad, administered by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended the ceremony. The Pro-tem Speaker, appointed by the Governor, serves temporarily until the election of a Speaker. The session, commencing on Saturday, follows the swearing-in of twelve ministers, including CM Revanth Reddy. BJP members boycotted the event, protesting Owaisi’s appointment, leading to criticism from the ruling Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi, who deemed it an “insult to the Constitution” and contrary to democratic principles.

Although the pro-tem speaker role is temporary, it is an insult to democracy, to Hindus, and to Bharat as a country to have the likes of Akbaruddin Owaisi in a constitutional role. Here, we enlist various hate speeches he has made over the years.

RSS ka Tillu – On Revanth Reddy

During his campaign, Owaisi called Congress leader and today’s Telangana Chief Minister RSS Ka Tillu, indicating that he started his political career with RSS. “He is RSS’s tillu, he is like this (indicates short stature) like Narasimha Rao. He came from RSS to the Congress. I will give him a new name today, “RSS’s tillu”. What is his name from today? (crowd says Tillu in chorus) Say it loudly, what is his name, tillu tillu, RSS’s tillu. From today, wherever he goes in the city, what should you call him? Tillu tillu.” He also adds that “this RSS’s tillu will take all Congress MLA and join with the BJP.

On Babri Masjid

In another video, he is seen speaking about the Babri Masjid. He said, “Babri masjid’s tragedy is in every Muslim’s heart. Babri masjid’s tragedy is in the heart of every secular-minded person. The martyrdom of Babri Masjid is such a tragedy and such a sad thing that the country can never forget it. And you, too, can never forget the martyrdom of Babri Masjid. The country is troubled today. Has the problem been solved? They didn’t do anything, they just martyred Babri Masjid and reached the heart of Delhi. And the martyrdom of Babri Masjid is our loss. Babri Masjid is the house of our Allah. In Babri Masjid, the voice of “hayya alas salah hayya alal falah” resonated. Babri Masjid was martyred, hey, if you have sorrow, sadness, and pain for Babri Masjid in your heart, then come Muslims, convert your prayerless (benamaazi) heart into one of prayer (Namazi) first. This will be the biggest right of Babri Masjid’s martyrdom. Populate those desolate Masadis; this will be the right, this will be the reference, and start naming every new mosque we will build as Babri Masjid. And show them that if you demolish one, we will build one lakh Babri Masjids.”

Belittling our gods and Hindu Dharma

In another video, he says, “These are the Gods of these people. What all do they worship… how many … Ram, Lakshman, Durga, Lakshmi, and so on, what all … how many do they have? A new one is born every eight days. Now a new one has come… Ganesh was there, something else was there. Now Hanuman Jayanti has come, Ram Navami has come, Lakshmi, we knew of… we never heard of this Bhagyalakshmi till today. Who is this new one? Yes, we have heard of Durga, what can I say, what all kinds of names they have? I do not want to use those wretched names in this auspicious gathering.”

“In the same way, people of Kaushalyapuram in Haryana that Kaushalya was from there. Who is this Kaushalya? Ram’s mother and Dasharath’s wife. The people of Haryana say that according to Hindu texts, Kaushalya had come to her maternal home in Haryana at Kaushalyapuram, and Ram was born there. Three pujaris are saying here, there, and everywhere. Arey Advani, Vajpayee, Uma Bharti, and Modi tell me where Ram’s mother went and where she gave birth to him. This was not 1 lakh or 2 lakh years ago, this was lakhs of years ago. This was 15 lakh years ago. Here, these people do not know 200-400 years history and they talk about 18 lakh years of history. Tell me about it… It’s a strange situation. Salaar used to say, every 100 kilometres, language changes, culture changes, the way of living changes, customs change, manners change, it has reached such an extent that even the pictures of their Gods change.”

This speech is said to be from Nirmal and Nizamabad districts in 2012.

“They all bow to me!”

In yet another video, he is seen saying, “Observe this, whoever is the chief minister, do they bow to me or not? From Babu to Rajashekhar Reddy, or be it Kiran Kumar or KCR, all of them listen to me and bow down to me, right? So, who has control over the scales? Of course, I’m not a king, but alhamdulillah, I can seat whoever I want as the ruler. “

“I bow to none but Allah”

In this undated speech, he says, “If this head bows, it will be in the morning when we bow our heads in the court of Allah. We are not slaves of your courts. The people who win their rights by looking into your eyes are called Majras.”

Threatening to use AK 47

Today, I have a mic in my hand. After the martyrdom of the Babri masjid, this mic is there. Even after the looting, this mic is in front of me. Even after my innocent children were beheaded, the mic is still here. This mic is still there after our luck was looted. If destruction happens today, then pray that it doesn’t happen that in place of the mic, there is an AK 47, and you have to go to the grave. This is a warning. Don’t make everyone so helpless.”

The infamous Police hata do… speech

In 2013, Owaisi said, “Hindustan, you’re 100 crores, we are 25 crores, you are more than us. Just remove the police for 15 minutes, we will show you who has more courage and who is stronger.”

Kaun Modi kya Modi?

In the same 2013 public meeting where he called for police to be removed for 15 minutes, he said, “I have seen so many Modi come and go. Today, they are saying Modi won in Gujarat, he will become the ruler… let’s see how he becomes one. And people are scaring the Muslims by saying hey, it is Modi… What Modi, which Modi… come to Hyderabad once, we will show you.”

Nirmal is also the place where Akbaruddin Owaisi delivered one of his infamous anti-Hindu hate speeches in 2012, for which the Indian judiciary recently acquitted him for ‘lack of evidence’. In 2022, a Hyderabad special court acquitted Owaisi in two hate speech cases (mentioned above). The court found insufficient evidence for charges related to speeches delivered in Nizamabad and Nirmal. While granting the benefit of the doubt, the judge cautioned against provocative speeches. The court questioned the video evidence’s continuity and noted its incomplete submission.

Yet he did not stop; he continued to make inflammatory speeches as recently as a few months ago during an election campaign. In this video, he is seen threatening a police inspector in front of the packed crowd from the stage itself. The policeman’s only mistake was that he pointed towards Akbaruddin and said that the time for giving the speech was coming to an end. This incident occurred on 22 November 2023 while he was campaigning for the state elections in Telangana. The police inspector had asked Owaisi to follow the model code of conduct applicable in the state. The police officer said he should stop his speech now as he has crossed the time limit set under the Model Code of Conduct. On this, Owaisi, addressing a public meeting in Hyderabad, asked the police officer to leave the venue.

In the initial part of the video, he is seen gesturing to the police to get back as he had not completed his speech. He later comes to the dias and says, “Do you think I have become weak after facing knives and bullets? It is not so at all because I still have a lot of courage within me. There are still five minutes left, and I will speak for five minutes now.” He further said, ‘No mother’s son has been born to stop me. If I give the signal, you will have to run. Should I ask them to run? I am saying that these people have come to weaken us.” https://hindupost.in/politics/akbaruddin-owaisi-booked-for-threatening-police-officer/

It is important to note that Owaisi’s “15 minutes” speech is used repeatedly by Islamists across the country to taunt Hindus. In September 2023, in Khushinagar, on a trolley, the audio of Akbaruddin Owaisi, where he threatened to remove police for 15 minutes so that Muslims could eliminate Hindus, was also playing.

With such a “glorious” history of hate speeches, Akbaruddin Owaisi was made a pro-tem speaker to “acknowledge” his 6th time becoming an MLA is an insult to democracy and an insult to Hindus. It is a shame that such a hatemonger is left to walk scot-free on the streets while a Nupur Sharma has to tread with caution for eternity. Who do we blame – Ourselves for voting him back to power over and over again? Or the judiciary for enabling his winning elections every time? Unless Hindus come together as a unit, nothing will change, and we will all end up having targets fixed on our backs.
