A chilling case of religious deception and exploitation has emerged from Patna, Bihar, where a 27-year-old Hindu woman from the Khajekala locality has accused an Islamist youth, Muhammad Siraj Ahmed, of deceit, coercion, and sexual abuse under the guise of love and marriage. The accused, a native of Gopalganj, allegedly posed as Sonu to befriend and entrap the woman. He is currently a postgraduate student at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) and resides in the college hostel.
As per OpIndia, according to the victim’s account, the two met three years ago when she visited the NMCH for medical treatment. A casual encounter gradually turned into frequent meetings after he persistently pursued her and gained her trust through emotional manipulation. The accused went to the extent of participating in Chhath Puja rituals and taking prasad, falsely claiming devotion by saying, “I have done this Chhath for you; I want to marry you.” Believing in his sincerity, the woman became emotionally attached and started living with him in a rented house.
However, over time, she began noticing alarming signs about his identity. Roughly two years ago, she overheard him speaking in religious terms with his friends, which raised her suspicions. Her doubts were confirmed when she saw his personal documents, revealing his real identity, Muhammad Siraj Ahmed. When confronted, he admitted to hiding his religion, justifying it by saying that she would have never agreed to be with him had he disclosed the truth. Despite the revelation, he continued deceiving her under the false promise of marriage while subjecting her to repeated sexual exploitation.
The victim further alleged that the accused began imposing Islamic practices upon her. He pressured her to convert, forced her to consume beef, and demanded she offer namaz five times a day, observe Roza during Ramadan, and recite various Kalmas. Upon her refusal, she was subjected to physical abuse. He even took her to Sabzibagh, a Muslim-majority area, to exert further religious pressure. Shockingly, during Eid this year, he went home and married another woman. When the victim objected, he mocked her, saying, “Four marriages are allowed in my religion. If you convert, I’ll keep you too.” When she visited his home, his family assaulted her and reiterated that their faith permitted multiple marriages.
The ordeal worsened when the woman sought police help. Despite reaching the women’s police station on 14th June, she was sent from one station to another for five days. Only after raising the issue at the Janata Darbar before the Director General of Police (DGP) on 19th June was an FIR finally registered. The charges include rape, cheating, and kidnapping.
The victim described herself as a target of Love Jihad. She lives in constant fear, as the accused continues to harass and threaten her. On 9th May, he allegedly lured her to a restaurant and attempted to abduct her.
Most disturbingly, she claims he threatened to kill and dismember her, saying her fate would be worse than Shraddha Walkar’s, a chilling reference to the infamous Delhi murder case. According to the police, she has been subjected to repeated physical and emotional abuse, forced religious practices, and exploitation in the name of marriage, while the accused has gone on to marry another woman under Islamic rites. The woman narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt allegedly orchestrated by the accused. She then approached the police and lodged a formal complaint. An FIR has been registered under serious charges, including rape, abduction, and criminal intimidation.
This incident has sparked outrage across social media and among Hindu rights groups, who have demanded swift justice and an open investigation into potential patterns of targeted deception and violence against Hindu women. The use of fake identity, forced conversion tactics, and threats of mutilation reflects a dangerous Islamic ideological mindset.
Recently, a similar incident was uncovered in Bihar, where a Hindu girl received death threats from her Muslim husband after five years of marriage, another case of deception and religious coercion. Despite such repeated incidents, many Hindus remain unaware or indifferent. It is high time the community remains vigilant and cautious against such predatory Islamist tactics.
