Malayali nurse in trouble for Social Media post: Kuwait

Last week, media reports from Kuwait, the Arab world and Pakistan confirmed that a nurse of Bharatiya origin employed at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital in Kuwait is facing the consequences for her social media posts and WhatsApp status. She supported the Zionist entity (Israel), they reported. The reports warned expatriates to refrain from discussing such topics publicly.

Though her identity remains unknown, Thekarmanews said that she is a Malayali. There are unconfirmed reports that she was deported. She is lucky. Arabs punish foreign Muslims who break the laws but mostly expel the accused if they are non-Muslim.

Ali Habab Al-Duwaikh, a local lawyer, filed a complaint with the Kuwaiti Public Prosecution regarding a Bharatiya nurse. He accused her of publicly supporting Israeli actions on social media and the display of the Zionist entity’s flag. The lawyer claimed that Israel bombed a Hospital in Gaza. He also blamed the Israelis for the deaths of Palestinian children.

The Kuwaiti Emir had passed a decree about a ‘state of war’ between Kuwait and Israel. The nurse is accused of violating this decree with her acts, thereby endorsing the ‘criminal act’ that occurred.

Al-Duwaikh mentioned in his official complaint to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, requesting legal action against the nurse. Citing some laws, he stated that she was acting in a way that showed her sympathy for the Zionist organization and contempt for Kuwait’s State Security Law, which makes such behavior illegal. This could lead to life imprisonment or a minimum of five years imprisonment.

Al-Duwaikh also urged Muslims in Kuwait and the wider Islamic world to fight the Zionist organization and its allies in compliance with national and international law. He argued that internal initiatives can still have a significant influence on the Zionist organization, especially in cases where direct cross-border conflicts are impractical. (Forget internal efforts; Israel is not even ready to exchange Hamas terrorists for Israeli babies held hostage.)

It later became clear that Hamas terrorists bombed their hospital by mistake and that they were using Palestinian civilians (women and children) as human shields. Like the whole Arab world, Kuwait is afraid to commit troops to Hamas and will not accept Palestinian refugees.

Though Al-Duwaikh’s charges are flimsy, the Islamists are known for their poor human rights record that disregards Dharma. Can anything better be expected from a culture that still stones women to death?

Recently, HinduPost reported that “An Indian-origin doctor named Sunil J. Rao has been terminated from his position at a hospital in Bahrain and arrested after posting pro-Israel comments on social media amidst the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. He was working as a specialist in internal medicine at the Royal Bahrain Hospital in Bahrain’s capital, Manama. A Kerala-based group owns Royal Bahrain Hospital.

During the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, a severe ban on freedom of expression was implemented in Arab countries. No one should speak or post in favor of Israel. Those who speak in favor of Israel will also be prosecuted. Such a situation exists because there is no democracy and freedom of expression in Arab countries.

Bharat has taken an official position on Israel’s war. Bharat stands with Israel. However, pro-Hamas demonstrations are taking place in Bharat, especially in Kerala. Last week, former Hamas chief Khaled Mashal virtually addressed an anti-Israel rally in Kerala’s Malappuram. ‘Buldoze Hindutva, unroot Zionism’ slogans were raised, and thousands of Islamists attended the show of strength.

Our government does not prevent such protests. Incidentally, there are no Jews left in Kerala. Are Hindus and Christians the next target for Mohammedan extremists? Where are our human rights activists? Where is the Keralite nurse, and is she safe?

Even in Western countries that have banned Hamas and declared it a terrorist organization, there are pro-Hamas demonstrations. No action is taken against the Muslims who take such stances and come out on the streets. Are such trends dangerous?
