Allegations of forced conversion from Malappuram

A family from Malappuram alleged that their daughter is being subjected to forced religious conversion in exchange for money. The parents filed a complaint with the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to the complaint, a young Muslim man and his family from Malappuram are threatening the lady to change her religion. The parents also say that the father of the young man’s friend told him that he would get Rs 25 lakh from abroad if his daughter converted to Islam.

The family of the girl, who is a native of Palakkad Ottapalam Kumaranallur, has approached the NIA. The girl was in love with a young man named Muhammad Shibil, a native of Malappuram. But now the girl’s family says that they are trying to convert the girl by threatening her by showing her nude pictures. The family has also pointed out that Shibil promised to get married after the victim converts to his religion.

The complaint also states that the father of Shibil’s friend said that the girl’s family would get Rs 25 lakh if she converted. They should register the marriage and send the certificate abroad. Shibil applied for the marriage with the girl on 5 July at the Sub-Registrar Office and the family is afraid that the marriage may take place by 5 August.

There are allegations that the government machinery is working to help forced conversion. Who are these conversion jihad sponsors operating from foreign countries? How many Hindus/Christians were trapped in Kerala?

  1. Malappuram is worse than Pakistan in some respects. I think you will find more “radicalised” Ms there than in some areas of Pakistan even. Gone case.
