Disturbing revelations came to light in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, exposing the scale of love jihad in the Malwa-Nimar region, a stronghold once known for terrorist networks like SIMI. According to the official report, 283 Hindu girls fell victim to love jihad traps, with 73 of them being minors.
As per Jagran, the data confirmed that despite the presence of the police commissioner system in cities like Indore and Bhopal, these crimes flourished. Indore topped the list with 55 registered cases in urban police stations, while Bhopal followed closely. The incidents pointed to a highly organized conspiracy aimed at destroying the Hindu population and community through targeted grooming, exploitation, and forced conversions.
Terror links and foreign funding
The Assembly report indicated possible involvement of banned radical outfits like SIMI, PFI, JMB, Hizb-ut-Tahrir, and ISIS, which have operated in the state for decades. The Malwa-Nimar belt, covering districts like Burhanpur, Khandwa, and Khargone, had been identified in the past as a hotbed of Islamist radicalization. Two years ago, intelligence inputs revealed that ISIS operatives were actively scouting for youths influenced by SIMI’s ideology, luring them into terror training and indoctrination.
The National Women’s Commission, after visiting the region, also raised concerns about a systematic, organized conspiracy behind love jihad. Investigations further uncovered that the accused networks received funding worth lakhs and crores, possibly from international sources, to run these operations. The recent bust of an international MD drug smuggling gang in Madhya Pradesh was also linked to the same nexus, where drugs were allegedly used to trap and blackmail Hindu girls.
Government action and SIT formation
Responding to a question by BJP MLA Ashish Govind Sharma, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav informed the Assembly that a State-Level Special Investigation Team (SIT) had been constituted on May 4, 2025. The SIT was tasked with probing all cases of love jihad since 2020, especially incidents involving vulnerable girls being targeted, exploited, and converted under pressure.
The Chief Minister stated that legal aid was being provided to victimized girls and vowed that the state government would treat this issue with utmost seriousness under the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 2021, implemented from March 27, 2021.
Long-standing Islamic radical base in Madhya Pradesh
SIMI’s activities in Madhya Pradesh date back to 2004, with Khandwa being its nerve center. Subsequent years saw the emergence of JMB, PFI, and ISIS operatives on the same soil. In 2023, the NIA and MP ATS jointly arrested three ISIS-linked operatives from Jabalpur who were plotting to expand their terror network across the state and openly aimed to turn India into an Islamic nation by 2050.
Security experts believe that even after police crackdowns, individuals influenced by SIMI’s radical ideology continued operating in other Islamist groups, with love jihad emerging as one of their most insidious tools.
The recent bust of Maulana Jalaluddin Changur’s radical conversion racket has further ripped the mask off the sinister agenda targeting Hindus. Investigators revealed that Changur’s network, flush with funding worth more than crores, was systematically luring, coercing, and brainwashing Hindus into abandoning their faith, often under the guise of marriage, social welfare, or employment. This was not an isolated religious activity but a calculated, well-financed assault on Bharat’s Hindu identity, directly undermining national security. The exposure of Changur’s operation along with ISIS and SIMI-mediated conversion tactics in Madhya Pradesh should serve as a wake-up call that these conversion rackets are part of an orchestrated pan-Bharat conspiracy, one that demands the harshest legal action, ironclad laws, and unwavering social vigilance to protect the Hindu community from demographic and cultural sabotage.
