A minor boy(10) is abused and physically tortured in a Christian Missionary school in Assam’s Sonitpur district for giving ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogan inside the classroom.

The incident allegedly took place at the ‘Calvary English School’, situated in the Khelmati area of Balipara on the 5th of February. 

As per the sources, on that day, a student of class IV of the school gave a slogan inside the classroom. Then, the teacher allegedly abused the minor student verbally and took him to the headmaster. In the headmaster’s chamber, the minor boy was further abused and physically tortured.

After the school hours, the minor student went to home and told his parents about the abuse and torture in the school. 

Next day, angry parents and locals reached the school and demanded an explanation from the authorities about the incident. 

Later, a team of Police from the Chariduar Police Station and the district elementary education officer(DEEO) reached the school. The DEEO warned the school management committee not to repeat such incidents further. 

As the administration took no steps against the accused school and the teachers, a Hindu organisation, “Kutumba Suraksha Parishad” raised the issue and wrote a letter to the Assam education Minister Ranoj Pegu. Satya Ranjan Borah, the president of “Kutumba Suraksha Parishad” said, “It is a shocking incident. The school authority has violated the child rights and human rights under Article 51(A) of the Constitution.” 

As the situation has surfaced, many students of the school have come up and expressed their experiences in the school. A student said that teachers always say not to do Murti Puja, bad words about Hindu dharma, Ganga river and beef. Teachers also say to students to worship jesus.
