In the Treta Yuga, it was in Chitrakoot that Bhagwan Ram, along with Sita Mata and Lakshman ji, spent a significant part of their 14-year exile.

Chitrakoot found a special place in Bhagwan Ram’s heart – he even described it as dearer than Ayodhya. The serene forests, holy rivers like the Mandakini, and the divine presence of sages like Atri and Valmiki made this region spiritually vibrant…….”
