St. Anthony’s school in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh has been blamed for offending the Hindu religion and culture by forcing the students to remove tilak and throw away their rakhis. The parents of the students filed a formal complaint with the police and wrote to the CM’s office after it was reported that the school’s teachers also insulted Hindu deities and culture.
As per the media reports, this school is located in Tatarpur, Hapur. The teachers misbehaved with the students, who have rakhis tied on their wrists and have tilak on their foreheads. The teachers forced them to remove the rakhis and tossed into the dustbin.
Students, who felt aghast and humiliated with this unexpected behavior, reported this incident to their parents, who arrived at the school on Wednesday, September 13, and challenged the teachers and the school administration.
It is being said that teachers were threatening the students of expulsion from school, if they failed to follow their order. The parents of the victim students have filed a formal police complaint and have registered their grievance on the Uttar Pradesh government portal.
Parents also levelled some serious allegations that school teachers have hurt their religious sentiments by abusing Hindu deities. Meanwhile, the school management has issued an apology to the parents and assured them that such incidents would not happen again.
Several Hindu organizations in the city also took cognizance of this incident and asked for a strict action against the school administration. They opined that the school was trying to influence the students against Hinduism by forcing them to throw their Rakhis and rub off the tilak on their foreheads.
