Sarvam Shakthi Mayam – a rare OTT offering with Hindu Dharma at its core

Sarvam Shakthi Mayam is a rare web series that was launched on June 9 by ZEE5. The series stands out for its pro-Hindu theme. It traces the journey of an atheist author and a dysfunctional family who visit 18 Maha Shakti Peethas.

The series has been created by BVS Ravi and directed by Pradeep Maddali. It stars Sanjay Suri (a failed businessman), Priyamani (Suri’s wife), and Samir Soni (an atheist author) in lead roles. Suri is a distressed businessman who embarks on a spiritual journey to visit the 18 Maha Shakthi Peethas in Southern Bharat. Soni is an atheist writer from America.

“Spanning ten episodes, each lasting approximately half an hour, director Pradeep Maddali’s series unfolds with a clear objective in mind. Unlike much of the content found on streaming platforms today, Sarvam Shakthi Mayam offers a simplistic exploration of spirituality and faith in God, devoid of exaggerated theatrics or melodrama. It presents an intriguing premise, emphasizing the power of unwavering belief and resilience within the context of a modern Indian family…the series showcases real locations and various temple towns, creating a positive and divine atmosphere throughout”, notes Times of India.

It is a rarity to find pro-Hindu OTT content and hence Sarvam Shakthi Mayam comes as a breath of fresh air. It is only when such content receives support from the viewers and Hindu Samaj, that makers would be encouraged to create similar Hindu Dharma-based content.
