Fresh case emerges after Samir Mulla row; Hindu woman alleges rape, blackmail by Islamist Mufees Miyanavar: Hubballi, KA

In the wake of the controversy surrounding the Samir Mulla case, another disturbing incident has come to light in Hubballi, where a young woman has accused a man of rape, blackmail, and sustained sexual exploitation.

According to the complaint filed at the Keshwapur Police Station, the accused Islamist, identified as Mufees Miyanavar, allegedly befriended the Hindu victim under the pretext of a relationship. The woman has alleged that Mufees Miyanavar subjected her to repeated sexual assault while manipulating and coercing her over time.

As per Public TV reports, police sources indicate that the accused Islamist had also initiated preparations for a registered marriage and jihad in Dharwad last August. However, the plan was halted after the woman’s family became aware of the situation and intervened.

Following this, the accused, Mufees Miyanavar, allegedly began blackmailing the victim, threatening to release private videos to the public. The complaint further states that he continued to intimidate her and, on one occasion, forcibly entered her house when she was alone and sexually assaulted her. He is also accused of issuing death threats to silence her.

The victim reportedly refrained from approaching the police earlier due to fear for her life. However, after the recent Samir Mulla case gained widespread attention across the state, she gathered the courage to come forward and lodge a complaint, with support from local organizations.

Sister Taseem Mulla named as the key facilitator who lured Hindu girls in Samir Mulla case

In a startling development, Sameer’s sister, Taseem Mulla, has been accused of playing a central role in facilitating these interactions. According to the complaint, the survivor first met Taseem at an aerobics class, where a close friendship was gradually established. This trust was allegedly exploited to introduce her to Sameer. As per Asianet Kannada reports, Taseem would frequently invite the Hindu victim to social gatherings and parties, where she would deliberately leave her alone with her brother, creating opportunities for him to initiate and deepen the relationship.

Further raising concerns, the perpetrator, Samir, reportedly had a mobile phone that contained numerous photographs of other young Hindu women, suggesting a possible pattern of targeting and grooming of Hindu girls. Videos that have surfaced publicly are said to show Taseem, her husband, Sameer, and the victim together at parties, reinforcing suspicions of coordinated involvement. Police have intensified their investigation into what is now being viewed as a potentially organized operation involving exploitation, coercion, and blackmail, while local groups have demanded strict action against all those allegedly involved.

Based on her statement, the police have registered a rape case against the accused and initiated an investigation. Authorities are expected to take further action following inquiry into the allegations.

The Mufees Miyanavar case stands as an example of how a Hindu girl found the courage to come forward after the Sameer Mulla case came to light. Incidents like these show that victims should not remain silent. Voices must rise louder against radical Islamist exploitation and coercion, and survivors must be encouraged and supported to speak out so that those responsible are held accountable.
