Historic moment: Grand Gita Paath program in Kolkata

Today, history is being made in the Brigade Parade Ground of Kolkata. More than two lacs of Hindus gathered for the grand ‘Gita Paath’ program.

In the early morning, Hindus from different districts of West Bengal have started to come to the ground. As per the dress code, men were seen wearing white dresses and Dhoti, and women wore Sarees with red borders.

Notably, ‘Tilak’ was a must to join the program. Hindus were seen with tilaks coming. Many people also joined saffron flags in their hands.

Also, Sadhus, in large numbers, have taken part in the program. Several noted Sadhus and Gurus from all over Bharat were also present. Mahamandleshwar Sri Shankaracharya was also in the program.

To manage the large numbers of Hindus, thousands of volunteers are from different Hindu organisations. Bharat Sevashram Sangha alone fielded more than two thousand volunteers.

President of the organising committee, Swami Pradiptanandaji Maharaj, said, “The program is unique for various reasons. Lacs of Hindus reciting the Gita is unique. Several World records will be made today. Representatives from Guinness World Records are present. This program will start the Hindu awakening in West Bengal.”
