‘Eradicate Sanatana Dharma’ hate speech: FIR registered in UP against DMK’s Udhayanidhi Stalin, Congress’s Priyank Kharge

“‘Eradicate Sanatana dharma’ remarks: FIR registered in UP against DMK’s Udhayanidhi Stalin, Congress’s Priyank Kharge”, Swarajyamag, September 6, 2023:

“On Wednesday (6 September), the Uttar Pradesh police registered an FIR against DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Congress leader Priyank Kharge, son of Congress President Malikarjun Kharge, on charges of causing offense to religious sentiments.

The FIR was initiated following a complaint by lawyers Harsh Gupta and Ram Singh Lodhi, who drew attention to media reports indicating that Stalin’s comments had caused emotional distress.

Udhayanidhi Stalin is facing legal action for advocating the eradication of Sanatana Dharma, while Kharge is implicated for supporting his statement…..”
