“Shahid Afridi tried to convert me to Islam but I didn’t compromise on Sanatan Dharma,” Danish Kaneria lays bare the truth of Pakistan

Former Pakistani Cricketer Danish Kaneria has been in limelight for quite sometime. He has been revealing the deep-rooted Hindu-hate within Pakistan, including what he experienced at the hands of many of his former team mates. Kaneria has made a big and shocking statement regarding forced religious conversion when he was part of the Pakistan cricket team. Kaneria claimed that it was former Pakistani cricket captain Shahid Afridi, who had tried to convert him to Islam.

Remembering his troublesome time in the Pakistani dressing room, Kaneria said that only Inzamam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Akhtar were the ones who supported him in all thick and thin. He said that “My career was going well. I’m the fourth highest wicket taking bowler for Pakistan in Tests. I was also playing well in county cricket and was really doing wonders there.”

“However, I used to face a lot of discrimination from Shahid Afridi and few other team mates, who not even prefer to sit with me at the dinner table. They always used to talk with me about the conversion, but my religion is everything to me and I never compromised on Sanatan Dharma.”

Kaneria also spoke about the spot fixing scandal, which ended his shining career abruptly. Kaneria was charged with spot-fixing allegations. He says that he had to accept the charges because of some pressure. He admitted that he met with a bookie, but claimed his innocence regarding the charges of spot fixing against him.

Kaneria added, “Apart from that, they pressured me to accept everything. In fact, I was completely unaware of any details of the fixing thing. However, the other person involved in this scandal was jailed in England. According to a report by Justice Qayyum, he has said that certain people in Pakistan cricket will never be allowed to become big figures.”

Kaneria also claimed that PCB didn’t support him, because he was a Hindu. He further added that PCB didn’t provide adequate support to him, as they were scared that if I continued to play, I would break their records. They knew they couldn’t stop me when it comes to talent.

I am a staunch Sanatani, will visit the Ram Mandir

Danish Kaneria claimed that he is a staunch Sanatani and he holds Dharma above all. Kaneria said, “First of all, for me, my faith in Sanatan Dharma is above everything. Nothing is above the Sanatan Dharma. Lord Ram is the inspiration of my life. Lord Ram says to raise your voice to uphold the Sanatan Dharma every time. I am doing nothing wrong. I am telling just those things which are happening with people here in Pakistan, and I will keep talking about those things. I will continue to point out the wrongdoings taking place here. There are so many cases which go unreported, and these things are happening wide open in front of everybody.”

Kaneria also expressed his deep love and respect towards Sanatan Dharma. He said, “I have followed Shri Ram since childhood. Sanatan Dharma is very beautiful. If ‘bulava’ comes, I will definitely visit the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya”.

He also added, “I am a Sanatani. My Dharma teaches me to raise my voice for a Hindu brother of mine and the Hindu community. If Bhagwan has given me the power to speak, I must speak for them. I would like it if everyone like me raised their voice. I will like it more if the Indian media raises a voice for this cause, because a wrong must clearly be called a wrong.”
