West Bengal: Bangladeshi smuggler Jahirul Islam injured in BSF firing

Smuggling through Bharat-Bangladesh International Borders is continuing. Although BSF jawans are keeping an eye on the border, smuggling of cows, gold, and cough syrup is happening regularly.

As per the reports, today, Monday morning, a group of Bangladeshi smugglers entered Bharat through the Norgaon border area of Goalpokhor of North Dinajpur district. The smugglers were taking cough syrup into Bangladesh. On-duty BSF jawans warned them and told them to stop. But, instead of stopping, they attacked BSF jawans. In self-defence, BSF jawans fired several rounds of bullets. Subsequently, one smuggler is injured.

The Bangladeshi smuggler is identified as Jahirul Islam. Jahirul Islam is a resident of Geroyadangi village in the Thakurgaon district.

BSF sources said that jawans recovered the injured Bangladeshi smuggler and admitted him to Islampur Hospital. But as his condition was critical, the on-duty doctor referred him to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. The smuggler is undergoing treatment there. Also, a BSF jawan is injured in the attack.
