West Bengal: Minor girl abducted, raped and brutally murdered in Murshidabad; the family alleged Police inaction

A severe case of brutal murder of a minor girl has come from the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The minor has been allegedly brutally murdered after abduction and rape. But, the Police are not allegedly taking any action against the accused even after filing a complaint.

As per the received information, the minor Muslim girl(13) is a resident of Dharampur village under the jurisdiction of the Hariharpara Police Station of Murshidabad district of West Bengal. On the 22nd of January, the minor girl went missing from home. She took large amounts of gold jewellery and some money with her. She remained missing till the 27th of January.

On the 27th of January, her body was found in a field next to her parents’ house. The body was in a decomposed and bloated state. It is also seen that the girl was murdered brutally, with marks all over her body.

Locals said that the girl had faced brutal torture. Her eyes were gauged out. Her ears were torn, and there were ligature marks around her neck.

According to the postmortem report, the girl was strangulated to death in such a manner that there were fractures in her neck bones. It is also said that the girl had been murdered before three to five days, and the possibility of sexual interference couldn’t be ruled out.

On the 27th of January, the girl’s family filed a complaint at the Hariharpara Police Station, whose FIR No- 36/2024, against a youth named Roni Khan, a resident of the same village.

The family of the minor girl alleged that Roni Khan and his family members were brainwashed and influenced her to flee from home with large amounts of gold jewellery (120 gms) and some money. After that, Roni Khan and his family tortured her brutally and murdered her. They then dumped her body in the field.

The family alleged that even after filing the complaint, the Police are not taking any action against the accused. They also alleged that the Police had not included any sections of the POCSO Act against the accused, Roni Khan.

Now, a popular Human rights activist of West Bengal, Sangita Chakraborty took up the case. She alleged that the Police is not acting against the accused for an unknown reason. She also said that she will take the case to the National Human Rights Commission and seek justice.
