West Bengal: Attack on the Vishwakarma Puja Mandap, the Murti vandalised

Now, the Murti breaking has started in West Bengal. Earlier, these types of incidents have been reported from Bangladesh, but now it has started in West Bengal.

On the night of the 17th of September, unidentified miscreants attacked a Vishwakarma Puja Mandap in the Maldah district of West Bengal. The head of the Murti was cut. Also, the hands of the Vishwakarma Murti were broken.

The next morning, locals saw this and informed others. Large numbers of locals gathered and started a protest. They demanded immediate identification and arrest of the perpetrators involved in the attack.

As per the local sources, an E-rickshaw union of the Gajol area organised Vishwakarma Puja. After the Puja and other rituals, all left. Next morning, they found that the Murti(idol) is broken.

As of now, no one has been identified or arrested.
