“TN BJP Youth Wing Functionary Self Immolates Allegedly Due To Police Excess, Annamalai Warns Police Of State Wide Repercussions”, The Commune Mag, September 5, 2023:

“In a tragic incident, the Tamil Nadu BJP youth wing vice president of Paramakudi Union has self-immolated allegedly due to police foisting false cases against him and harassing him.

In a strongly worded statement, Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai has condemned the police excess and accused the police force of being a lapdog of the ruling DMK government.

Annamalai said, “I am profoundly disturbed to learn that today, Mr. Tamilchelvan, the Vice President of the Youth Wing in the Paramakudi Union BJP, has resorted to self-immolation at the Parthibanur Police Station. This drastic action is a result of unfounded charges and persistent oppression by the Tamil Nadu Police…..”
