SP leader Asif Ali raped & extorted crores from daughter of his party’s ex-leader

In a shocking case reported from Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Moradabad, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Asif Ali is accused of raping, blackmailing, and torturing a woman for five years. Ali reportedly threatened to throw acid on her face. The 30-year-old victim, who hails from a politically connected family, disclosed the ordeal to her husband and lodged a police complaint.

According to the victim’s statement in the FIR, the abuse began in 2019 when Asif Ali gave her a drink laced with intoxicants, causing her to lose consciousness. He then raped her and took nude photos, which he used to blackmail and sexually assault her multiple times thereafter. Ali also extorted Rs 6 crore from her by threatening to make the photos public.

The victim, who is married to a businessman in Kanpur, had been visiting her father in Moradabad, who passed away in 2023, leaving her and her sisters as heirs to his property. The accused reportedly sought to exploit her financially and coerce her into transferring property and assets to him.

The victim’s ordeal came to a head when Ali threatened her with an acid attack in a public place. She bravely reported the incident to the police, leading to the registration of an FIR against the accused SP leader and his brother. The police have launched an investigation into the matter, acknowledging the serious nature of the allegations and the mental torture endured by the victim over the years.
