In a horrific incident, Imtiaz Haseen Shaikh raped a married woman in front of her husband in Pune’s Hadapsar as the man, who was held at knife-point, had reportedly defaulted on a small personal loan. Shaikh not just raped the woman but also filmed the act and uploaded the video on social media.
The incident happened in February this year in Hadapsar when the accused, Imtiaz H. Shaikh, 47, had reportedly given a friendly (interest-free) loan of Rs 40,000 to the victim’s husband. However, the couple could not return the loan amount after which Shaikh started abusing and threatening them.
In February, he summoned them to an isolated spot in the Hadapsar government colony and again demanded the outstanding money from them, but they had no money to repay them. After that, Shaikh allegedly whipped out a knife, threatened to kill the husband, raped the woman right there, and made a MMS of the incident on his phone.
The accused again later repeatedly demanded sexual favours from the woman and when she refused, he posted the video clip on social media sites. Finally mustering courage, the victim approached the Hadapsar Police Station and registered a complaint on Tuesday (July 25), said Police Inspector Ravindra Shelake.
“We tracked down the accused and arrested him yesterday… He was produced before the court which has given him a two-day remand till tomorrow (Thursday, July 27) and further investigations are on,” Shelake told IANS. Police are also trying to ascertain if the accused had trapped any other victims and exploited them in a similar manner, even as the incident sent shockwaves in the city.
Most likely the victim is Hindu. In all such cases of bullying, the victim is 90% time a hapless Hindu. Muslims won’t dare to do such a thing to another Muslim. But when a docile meek HIndu is in front of them, they become bullies and do horrible things. As Gandhi said that from his experience, “the mussalman is a bully, and the Hindu a coward.” There is, sadly, a lot of truth to this statement, and you can see it play out anywhere there is a mixed population of Ms and Hindus. Invariably, the bullies will the Ms, and the bullied will be Hindus. How to stop this? We have to empower Bajrang Dal and like orgs, but our own Hindus keep on degrading these orgs to appear more “secular” and “progressive.” Then, when the Ms strike, these same Hindus run with their tails between their legs.
