Sandeshkhali Horror: “Will investigate and initiate action if we receive complaint”, promises SP Hasan Mehedi Rehman

Amid outrage in the nation regarding the alleged mass rape of women in Sandeshkhali, the SP of Basirhat Police District, Hasan Mehedi Rehman, promised to take appropriate actions against the culprits. He also said that till now, no complaint of sexual exploitation or rape is not filed. 

In the press conference today, while addressing the reporters, Hasan Mehedi Rehman said that the situation in Sandeshkhali is now peaceful. Heavy police force, including women police personnel, are deployed in the area. 

He also claimed that there is no fear or terror. Women can come to the police and file complaints. 

Promising to take action, he said, “Will investigate and initiate action if we receive any complaint of sexual exploitation or rape. Women can come to the police and file the complaint.”

But when asked about absconding TMC leaders Sheikh Shahjahan and Shibu Hazra, the SP didn’t answer. 

However, women of different villages in the Sandeshkhali area coming out bravely and are describing about the torture in front of the media. Some women alleged that the police force remained deployed throughout the day. But at night, goons are roaming in the area.
