“Controversy erupted in the Punjabi Market of Kosikalan, Mathura, after Wahid Qureshi, a local shopkeeper, attempted to rename the entire market as ‘Islamic Bazar.’ The situation intensified when Quresi distributed shopping bags bearing the new name, leading to widespread anger among traders and residents.
Wahid Qureshi, who runs a readymade garment shop named Trade Never Ends, printed and distributed carry bags with the name ‘Islamic Bazar’ to promote his business. This unilateral renaming of the historically known Punjabi Market sparked immediate outrage. Local traders quickly informed the outpost police about Qureshi’s actions, but no prompt action was taken.
The incident took a turn when it gained momentum on social media, prompting the Mathura Police to intervene. They conducted a raid on Qureshi’s shop, apprehending both him and his servant. While the servant was released, Qureshi faced charges of breaching public peace…..”
