Pratapgarh, UP: Islamist brutally murders Hindu girlfriend

In a shocking incident, Islamist Qadir, a hotel roti maker, brutally murdered his girlfriend, Jyoti, on June 4. The tragic event took place in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Jyoti, a Hindu woman who had separated from her husband, had been in a relationship with Qadir for several years. Based on the reports from Hindustan, on June 4th, Qadir entered her home and began hurling casteist slurs at her before pulling out a knife and stabbing her multiple times.

The relationship between Islamist Qadir and Jyoti, who was married but estranged from her husband, had been ongoing for some time. Qadir had been a regular visitor to her house over the years. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting issues of domestic violence and inter-caste tensions.

Based on the reports from Dainik Bhaskar, Nandiram, the victim’s father, reported that Qadir had been visiting their home for the past 1-2 years. On the day of the incident, Qadir arrived at their house at 3:30 pm and began abusing Jyoti with casteist slurs before attacking her with a knife.

Pushpa, Jyoti’s younger sister, was present during the assault and immediately called their father. By the time Nandiram reached home, Jyoti had already succumbed to her injuries. He found her body soaked in blood and promptly informed the police. The police took Jyoti’s body for a post-mortem examination and have launched a manhunt for Qadir, who fled the scene and is originally from Meerut.

Pushpa stated, “I entered the house and found her seriously wounded. He had already stabbed her more than 10 times. There were frequent clashes between them. His name is Qadir, and he is a Muslim. He used to visit occasionally, and their fights escalated to this brutal murder. I called the police, and a few weeks before, Qadir had already threatened Jyoti that he would kill her.

Qadir has been charged under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the SC/ST Act. OpIndia Media reports suggest that a love triangle may have been a motive behind the murder, as Jyoti had separated from her husband four years ago. Multiple police teams have been deployed to locate and apprehend Islamist Qadir.

Similar to this incident, in a recent tragic and shocking incident, Islamist Abdul Apsar has been arrested for murdering Mamata, a married Hindu woman with whom he had an illicit relationship. This case highlights the ongoing pattern of violence in interfaith relationships involving Hindu women. In another incident mirroring this tragedy, Bal Muni Lohra, a woman from the Janjatiya community in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga, met a similar fate. On May 7, her husband, Akhtar Ansari, allegedly strangled her to death. These cases are indicative of a disturbing trend where Hindu women from scheduled castes and backward communities are targeted.

These incidents underscore the manipulative and coercive tactics used by some individuals within Islamist circles. Despite police actions, the successive targeting of Hindu women continues, raising serious concerns about safety of Hindus.
