Niyaz shoots dead Man Singh after trivial argument; victim’s father, brother, & neighbour injured in the attack: R’than

Niyaz opened fire in broad daylight killing Man Singh and injuring three others. The incident occurred in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh District. It is even more shocking that the attack happened in broad daylight and outside Man Singh’s house.

According to an NDTV report, Man Singh’s brother, father, and a neighbour were injured in the firing. All of them were taken to Nohar’s Upzilla Hospital where the injured are receiving treatment. The incident angered locals who protested and demanded that the deceased’s family members be given government jobs. Other protestors’ demands included compensation to Man Singh’s family and suspension of the entire staff at Phephana.

Hanumangarh Police Inspector Vikas Sangwan informed the media that on Saturday (August 24) night at Dhani Lalkhan Village a Jagran (Hindu religious event) was organised. During the event, Niyaz and Man Singh got into an argument. On Sunday (August 25) morning, Niyaz arrived with 6 to 7 accomplices and opened fire on Man Singh who was sitting outside his house.

Man Singh died on the spot while his brother Sanjeev, father Madanlal, and neighbour Mangilal were injured. Angered villagers blocked the highway demanding action against Niyaz and other accused. They blocked the highway for over four hours, alleging inaction by officials from Phephana Police Station. The villagers said neither did the Police officers answer their phone calls nor did they arrive on time after being informed of the firing incident. As per the last available information, none of the accused have been arrested. However, police authorities have assured that the accused would be arrested at the earliest.
