A history-sheeter and five of his family members, who had allegedly attacked a police party in the Thakurganj area over a month ago, have been arrested in Mumbai.
They were brought to Lucknow on Saturday.
The prime accused, Raj Husain Hukki, 36, and his family members Imran, Shahnawaz, Riyasat Bahadur Husain Baba, Shahbaz and Mohsin had fled to Mumbai to avoid arrest.
ADCP, west zone, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, said Hukki was wanted in 36 cases of crime, including attempted murder.
“His associates are also named in several cases. Hukki and his associates used to extort money from gullible people and businessmen by resorting to bullying and intimidation tactics. They also earned money through crime or working for people who sought their help illegally,” Sinha said.
Sinha said Hukki had contacted his relatives in Lucknow demanding money, following which he came under surveillance.
On August 2, a police team led by SSI Ashok Kumar Singh was patrolling the area when they stopped at a shop where Hukki was standing and questioned him. Later, Hukki called his family members and attacked the policemen with sticks, stones and sharp-edged weapons.

Last year he left for Heavenly abode with getting injustice over injustice not got any help from government of India and also not got justice from Supreme court of India where he faught his case of getting justice to get combined services Pension ie military as combatant clerk and As an Auditor in DAD CGDA service 18+13 total 31 years pension got less than even first military sanctioned pension in December 1965 for total 31 years combined both services and that too at higher post with more numbers of years served ie for 31 years
No PM President and IAS officer applied his mind to look into injustice done with him
Though I too being in the IAF served and flown with PM Indira ji Maximum but
Then I got help from RM Jagjiwan Ram Ji but couldn’t get from MOD officers and after retirement RM Pariker sir who had agreed to me personally but immediately he had resigned and taken over as CM
Like that I too got injustice from military, this we have to contend with our family fate
