In a shocking incident in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, a woman and her lover have been arrested for the murder of her 13-year-old son. Based on the reports from Amar Ujala, the boy, identified as Sitaram, had discovered his mother’s illicit relationship with an Islamist man named Mohammad Rafiq Khan, who runs a tire puncture repair shop. In a desperate bid to cover up her affair, the woman, Kalawati, allegedly instructed her lover to eliminate her son.
According to the police, the tragedy unfolded when Sitaram secretly recorded a video of his mother and Rafiq in an objectionable state. Fearing that the video could expose her affair, Kalawati sought help from Islamist Rafiq to eliminate her son. Rafiq, who had employed the boy at his shop, lured Sitaram away on the pretext of visiting a temple. Once in a secluded area, Rafiq strangled the boy to death and discarded his body in the ravines of Morena.
The family reported Sitaram missing on November 27, after he failed to return home. His Instagram account provided the crucial clue, revealing a video of him leaving with Rafiq on a motorcycle. This led the police to identify Islamist Rafiq as a suspect. Following intense questioning, Rafiq confessed to the crime, stating that he had carried out the murder at Kalawati’s request.
The mother and her lover have both been arrested and charged with murder. The case has drawn significant attention, as the horrific actions of a mother who murdered her own son for her illicit relationship are both appalling and distressing.
